HP 3 button wireless optical mouse

I just bought a new wireless mouse to replace my old (6yrs) corded mouse and a new Saitek keyboard. the keyboard works fine but I cannot get the mouse to work. I folowed all the instructions and it still did not work. I thought it might be a driver problem but this mouse does not use drivers it is supposed to plug and play. HELP!!!!

Followed the quick start directions. They are in picture so you can't mistake them. It isn't working and I have no idea if the product is defective or if there is something I can do to make it work. Please help!

I have a wireless mouse that was difficult to set up, but eventually worked. I disconnected the mouse and receiver and placed it in my laptop case. When I reconnected them, the mouse did not work.

I followed the grossly inadequate instruction over and over for about 3 hours, but no connection established. The little blue light in the receiver has not turned on. Possibly it is burnt out?

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud

Similar problem which I resolved today.
I have a hp wireless mouse model no. 5189URF. I bought this in hp online in April 2009. It needs 2 x AA Alkaline batteries.
Steps I did to resolve.
1. Removed battery cover.
2. Removed batteries below which 2 screws exist.
3. Remove 2 screws and remove the top casing of mouse.
4. You can see 2 very small square push button corresponding to left and right clicks in mouse.
5. try to press the left button and make sure its free. The issue seem to be that this button becomes rusty internally and lost contact. Therefore clicks are not recognized. You may need to press it repeatedly and also with a slight thrust circumferentially.
6. You can test your mouse in WIndows Help & support option linked with HP hardware diagnostics tool.

My wireless mouse quit working, I tried a new one & it won't work either. Got the old corded mouse hooked up & it works fine.

There are 2 buttons to press
one is on the wireless thing you put into the computer
mine is a green light and doesn't look like something you would
press
but it is.
then I pressed the mouse underneath it says connect
and it worked.

Can I use a new MS wireless mouse to replace my existing MS wireless mouse. Currently my mouse and keyboard connect together on the same wireless USB device. Could the new mouse be detected and be used...

I suppose there is a reset button on the keyboard or the software provided so I suppose it could be possible, I don't know.
I use a Microsoft Wired Keyboard...
But Best of luck.

Replaced Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 doesn't work

I would have suggested opening up your old mouse and cleaning the right click button first.

Generally, wireless devices have a connect button that finds the frequencies of the devices. On the receiver press this button, then press the button on the bottom of your new mouse. the receivers lights will stop flashing once connected.
