I need a USB Adapter/Charger for ITeddy - I can't seem to get the correct connector for the bear. The website for Iteddy is in the UK and won't allow international orders for replacement parts - can you help - give me either a part number or where I can locate this information.?

Since this device is probably about 4 years old, most likely the rechargeable battery within the iTeddy MP3 player has reached the end of its usable life.

I'm surprised that this didn't come up as a possible resolution to your problem when you first arrived at this site. It seems that there were replacement batteries available for this toy; however, some soldering was involved with the fix.
make sure you push the jack fully into the front of your iteddy as it has a extra notch compared to a speaker jack. and give it 10 mins as it has to get a small charge in to configure the battery
make sure you have pushed the jack in all the way on the iteddy as it has a extra notch compared to a speaker jack. only when in fully will your pc find your iteddy as plug and play and add it as a extra hard drive in windows explorer
I had exactly this problem, i found you can fix this problem by being careful you can:-
1 remove the belt clip and disconnect the battery very gently.
2 unscrew the back of the unit and remove it.
3 unscrew the circuit board, DO NOT DISCONNECT THE RED AND BLACK SPEAKER WIRE
4 where you can see the jack insert there are three pins, push these pins in gently.
5 reconnect the battery and plug in the jack, the screen should come on. If it does'nt try pushing down the pins once more gently of course, to ensure good connection to the jack.
This worked for me and only took ten minutes, good luck.

When I first bought the iTeddy we did not check whether it works or not, wished we did! 2 months later when we gave it to our daughter for her birthday, it didn't work! Battery was flat and would not charge. Only worked if you plugged the unit into a USB Port to get the power. We'll searching around I could not find anyone talking about changing the battery. I went to Jaycar (electronics store) and found replacement iPod batteries. They were the same voltage (3.7V) and mAh (900mAh). I bought it in hope it would work, and YES it did! Charges up too! The battery was a "little" bigger, but that didn't concern me, but if it does you then maybe try a 3.7v with a lower mAh and that will fit. You will need to cut the wires and match the red with the red and the black with the black of the battery. Make sure you keep the plug of the iteddy so you can take the battery out by unplugging it. I used a soldering iron to fuse the wires together. Good luck!
