SOURCE: Used HP Netservers

Of course they're still useful to someone. Sounds like i'd start with craigslist or ebay. Some of the servers will be heavy, so be sure to list that shipping from wherever you are to them is paid by the bidder. If you can, maybe you should try testing out the equipment to see if any of it works.

For example, Just the first entry sells new for 350, and used for about 175. You'll easily pick up 70-130 on ebay for these. In fact, I could use some of that equipment :-)

SOURCE: NetServer LH3 Hot Swat Drive Cage

I have the same drive cage, I use a AT power suply connecting only the Black, Red and Yellow cables to the same color of the drive cage.

Sometimes the drive cage not start properly, but I think the other 3 cables, orange, white and purple are for the PG... but I don't test this.

Are you solve this???

Thanks

I have an HP Netserver LH3 with 2 processors, 512MB memory, and RAID 5 array. Someone took the drives out of the machine, and the sides off of the box, and tried to blow the dust out using canned air....

if you removed the drives in a RAID 5 array and did not get them reinstalled in the proper order and your OS was on your array .. your toast ... well leastwise a modest amount of testing will be required ... how many drives ?
if you have 3 .. there is 6 possible combinations; 4 - 15; 5 - 31 ..
If it were me and important data was on the system w/o a backup .. I'd go though the task of trying all possible combinations.
easyiest way .. put a masking tape tag on each drive each with a different number .. create a chart based on the number of drives .. like
3 - 2 - 1
3 - 1 - 2
1 - 2 - 3
2 - 1 - 3
1 - 3 - 2
2 - 3 - 1

go through all possible combinations and attempt to boot ..

if you have a backup and or the data is not important .. recreate the array and reinstall the OS ..
