Reset timer between batches of cookies

Hi
i have a taylor dual event timer/clock 5828. . it has a clock and a double timer. the clock and date are no problem.
the problem is each of the timers. i set the timers and they go off. BUT i cannot stop them nor reset them. to do this i have to undo the battery which, also, unsets the clock and date.
how do i stop the timer after it rings and starts blinking 'times up'? how do i reset it to zero to bake another batch of cookies?
thanks
d

My ST01C works fine for a few days and then resets itself. The clock flashes 12:00am every time it resets and their is no pattern to it resetting. Sometimes it works for 2 days; sometimes 4-5. I reprogram...

My guess, it's the battery... Manual has troubleshooting steps that point to battery.

1) Timer requires CR2 battery to work ... double check markings on your battery. Programs will not function without battery. Battery can be low without BATT warning on screen.

2) ST01C has 1 year limited warranty. Things wear out.

3) When reprogramming, do you Reset timer? Or just reprogram Time-Date. Last-ditch troubleshoot says to Reset and Re-program timer.
