Honda VT 600 C Shadow headlight intermittent

Headlight only comes on when the neutral lamp is illuminated. Any other gear and no headlight. Maybe a ground issue? Any hints where to look?

SOURCE: change headlight

Doing a search I saw your question come up, hopefully this is not an old question. ANyways, under the front edge of your fairing there is a small black rectangular plastic piece held on with 2 screws and two clips. Remove the clips by pulling on the centers, they should come right out, this will give you access to the back of the headlight. There you will need to unplug the headlight and the give the light a turn and it should come out of there. Make sure not to touch the new bulb with your bare fingures as this will shorten the life of the bulb, clean with alcohol if you do, hope this helped.

SOURCE: Honda Shadow 600 c won't start in gear after battery change

The kickstand switch is either bad or bent out of position. See if you can activate the switch manually. Does the bike run now? If so, the switch is bent out of position. If it still won't run, jumper the wires together until you can replace the switch.

SOURCE: headlights will not come on and it will not start.

sounds like you have no connection at a major junction block in your wiring that will be running to you ignition and kill switch.. Look for a green (corroded) or loose connection. Also first would clean all battery connection!

Toward the bottom of the headlight there are two recessed phillips head screws. If you turn them clockwise it will raise the headlight. Counterclockwise will lower it.

You either have a broken/disconnected wire or you have a bad starter button. The starter button is a two position switch. Push it in half way and the headlight turns off. Push it in all the way and the solenoid engages the starter. The button is either dirty or broken.
