Won't boot just built new computer all new components. using amd phenom 2 940 3.0 ghz processor with GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P 790X RT motherboard and VGA GIGABYTE GV-R487D5-1GD 1G R graphics card. when I boot the computer all the fans run lights go up, but my mouse doesn't turn on neither does the moniter with the bios page. I tried pulling out the mother board battery and shorting the connection (recomended by manual) double checked connections. my last thoughts are either a bad graphics card or motherboard, or a bad power supply which is putting out enough for fans and leds but not anything else...

Try and hook up a speaker and see if you get any beeps. Let me know what beeps you get. How many and how long they are. Also, make sure your MB has the latest firmware to support the processor. You might need to flash the BIOS.

I am using a single SATA II Drive in a new system, GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P, AMD 790X & SB750 chipsets. I know I can let the SATA II be a "Native IDE" but isn't that loosing any benefit of the SATA II...

The "Native IDE" mode causes the motherboard to "report" to the Operating System that the installed SATA drive is an IDE drive, rather than reporting "no IDE drives installed", and then requiring the Operating System to load a SATA device-driver to interface with the SATA drive.

Using RAID to "mirror" your hard-drive is a very-cool way to provide a "real-time" and "up-to-date" backup.

Should one of your drives suddenly "die", the other will continue to work, and you can buy another hard-drive, re-establish the "mirroring", and continue to work productively -- no fiddling with offline/stale backups.

Unable to complete full boot with SATA Blu-Ray Player installed

Try reducing the size of the raid to under 2TB. If the system install, then try expanding the raid.

I havea GA-MA790X-UD4P AMD 790X; GbE; PhnII;DDR2 1333+; ATI FireX

It will support DDR2, of 1066 (backward compatible) and up to 16GB. If you put in two sticks, be sure they match in speed to get the best performance. It's also dual channel, so matching size will also be a good thing.
