My Electrolux Oven (EOB51001) cuts out every time I switch on the temperature. It knocks out all of my appliances/trips the fuse for my whole downstairs. Thoughts?

SOURCE: Electrolux EOB5630 oven cuts out

First thing you would want to check is, make sure you don't have any issues with the electrical connection to the oven first. Possible cuircut breaker issue.

Check these things first, you are probably going to find a loose connection somewhere. If that doesn't fix your problem.

Let me know and we can go from there.

SOURCE: My electrolux EOD5330 fan oven tripped a fuse. ow

Most likely problem is the the oven element short circuited which caused the fuse to blow. When power is restored everything generally works except for the element. If you check the element you may find a blow hole in it.

I have a eob6630 Electrolux cooker. Top element / bottom and work ok. But oven cuts out approx 20 mins when cookin. Then switches off. But comes back on when cools. Approx 20 mins. Can anyone advise about...

From my experience the most common reason for this failure is a thermal switch for cooling fan. It is located on the upper side between the wiring and its function is to switch off the cooling fan when the temperature drops even though the oven is already turned off. If the cooling fan does not work then it will increase the temperature on the cabinet and the main temperature limiter will switch off the oven.

Electrolux EOB 6632 oven trips main house circuit breaker if used above 180c. Installation electrician has done whole house test, says everything normal, must just be a particularly sensitive ciecuit...

Hi, welcome to FixYa! my name is Shaun. I hope i can help you out with your question. Your main house breaker is tripping over 180C because of the amount of current your oven is drawing. Keep in mind that an oven is capable of pulling up to 1/4 the amount of amperage of your total house current capacity, up to 50 Amps. This is assuming you have a typical 200 Amp main breaker. Add this in with your heating/air-conditioning, up to 30A, if electric, your water heater, 25 A if electric, and whatever lights and appliances you have plugged in and turned on, you can imagine how quickly those amps add up when your oven is on. Your oven breaker won't trip because you're not exceeding 50A on that circuit, however if your total household load is exceeding 200A, your main will trip. Also, breakers lose efficiency over time. Sometimes they can drop current capacity by as much as 25%. So your best bet is to replace your house main and see if that fixes your problem. Hope this helps out. Have a good day!

HI, MY ELECTROLUX SINGLE FAN OVEN EBO5665 DOES NOT HEAT UP TO ANY TEMP. THE OVEN IS ON, FAN ON,AND THE TIMER DIALS ARE SET. DOESNT HEAT UP. IT TRIPPED THE ELECTRIC SWITCH OFF AT THE TIME. ANY SUGGESTIONS!...

You probably have a bad ( or open ) heating element.. With the power removed.. look at the heating element and make sure it is connected properly and if after you check that it looks ok.. plug it in and try again.. if it fails to get hot..its probably bad.. Not sure what you mean when you say ' IT TRIPPED THE ELECTRIC SWITCH OFF AT THE TIME' but if it tripped the switch or circuit breaker .. your heating element may be shorting out to ground.. and would need to be replaced anyway... Hope that helps.
