I have an m540 and it has been giving me problems from day one i also have family with the same phone and same problem..my phone goes upto a 1000 carecters and i can only text out up to 139 or it will tell me sending cancled it also does that to my picture messeging.i took it to telus and they couldnt fix it eather i took it in 3 times for the same problem..i hope someone can help please????
I briefly remember having this problem.. I'm on day two of having this phone. Look @ the bottom of your screen when you are entering the message where it shows you the number of characters and number of total characters as a fraction (eg: 18/1000). If it does not show xx/1000, you are still on the "subject" line and not the body of the text message. Thats what I did on my first text message.
Solution: whenever you see the word "subject" use the DOWN key to move below it. Your message area (below the SUBJECT line) turns green and you have a cursor. Start typing away and the window changes to a large black one. You should see 0000/1000 in the bottom left corner
If you still have a xx/360 or whatever that number was, perhaps you are sending a text in a different way. Maybee try sending yourself a text and then REPLY to it. If the same problem persists in a reply message, than you should raise the roof on the nearest Smellus store.
