Gateway 7510GX CPU Fan noise

I have a Gateway 7510GX Laptop with about 100 hours use on it.

Recently it has developed a loud noise in the CPU fan. It sounds like something (like a piece of paper) is hitting the fan blades, giving a classic "playing card in the bicycle spoke" sort of sound.

Before I start randomly removing all the exposed screws in the hope of gaining access to the heatsink-fan assembly, I wonder if anyone can post a service manual or walk-through link on how to properly disassemble the 7510GX.

Thank you

If this is a brand new laptop it would be still under warranty.
I suggest returning it to the supplier for repair under warranty because if you attempt to repair it you could void your warranty.
You should only attempt repairs after the warranty has expired.

Laptop is heating up and then shutting off

When the CPU overheats then it will shutdown (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down.If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged withdust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use acan of compressed air to do this.

I purchased my laptop in 2009 from currys and only recently its beginning to make noises from the base of my laptop it sounds like iv a problem with the fan of the laptop would this be causing my internet...

Sounds like the fan could be pulling the cpu down or it's overheating. The cpu fins may need cleaning and will stop overworking the fan and start cooling as it's suppose to.The fan itself could be dying.

Loud fan

Hello

I have a gforce 9600gt oc addition and that fan is loud beyound your wildest expectation, but although there is lots of utillities you can install to reduce fan speed thus reducing the noise, but can cause permanent harm to your system(it will most probably overheat). You can try blowing all the dust of the fan using compressed air to reduce the rolling resistance of the fan. You can find a fan speed utillity with the name of LG X110 fan utility from google, developed by msi, but i wount recomend it. Hope this can help you, please rate this

Best regards

My Gateway laptop shuts off after five minutes. I

Hi there.
There is probably dust trapped in the air vents and around the CPU fan, the best way to clear it is to turn the machine off, get a can of compressed air and give short blast through the air vents.
The CPU fan is usually located under the laptop and give a couple of blasts through that too.
Once your happy that all the dust is removed you can turn the laptop on again and it should stay on for much longer.
The cooling pad won't make any difference if the issue is dust.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Hp laptop dv9500 noisy and loud fan ...

The sound you are hearing is probably the fan, This fan has a noisy bearing and will eventually lock up and the fan will stop spinning and therefore the CPU will overheat and shutdown.
The fan needs to be replaced.

Lap top fan making a lot of noise

Check places like TigerDirect.com or Newegg.com. They have high quality laptop cooling fans & should be able to help you find one that is better than the stock fan at a better price. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

Loud noises coming from power supply fan?

it might be the fan of your cpu has dust.and making it the fan hard to spindle.if you can dismantle your cpu fan or the fan in your power supply.just clean it with the paint brush.or do it with vaccum cleaner.if you have air compressor the would be better.just blow out the dust.then if you can do it also just putting oil or grease inside the fan at the core.the one that has magnet.it will smoothen the spindling.ok good luck
