I have a Nokia 6288. It recently stopped working. It's just a black screen. I tested it by dialing my home number on it and the home phone rang. So it works, but i can't see a damn thing. I have a spare phone, but the problem is that all of my contacts are saved to the phone and not the sim. So I was hoping that maybe some wonderful person could patiently write down all of the areas on the phone i need to go into (eg: top left, midde, bottom right middle etc) to save them to sim card. Obviously this has to be spot on. Bit of a challenge really. I know it's in contacts and then names somewhere. If you could test in your phone and write in down for me than that would be awesome. Such a pain in the bum. thanx alot.

My phone is a samsung z720. the screen black out as well, but i am still able to play music with it. But i didn't save my contacts to my SIM card, so now i have lost virtually all my fren's contacts. ><

its not possible to retrieved deleted dialed numbers from your phone because you phone does not have a recycle bin. A computer as recycle bin that's why deleted files are retrieved.
Contact your service provider, they should be able to give you a list of your dialed numbers. Usually, your service provider keeps a record of all your incoming and out going calls.
hey the puk no. is sim specific and not phone specific..so you have 3 options: firstly you can dial the landline number of customer care of your service provider(which every service provider has and you can get it anywhere where you get recharge vouchers)..and restyou know just ask secondly take a friends phone with same service provider and dial the standard customer care no. rest you know thirdly you can go to your service provider outlet shop..
hey your service provider will have a 10digit customer care number also which you can dial from a landline phone..you can get this number from where you get recharge vouches..call them and they will give you youe puk number else take phone of a friend with same service provider and call the customer care rest you know wat to do..
to list a contact the easy way just type the number it and press options and it will display save go from there
if some one called and u missed it when the screen shows one missed call it should show the number if not it was private u can also go in to call log and go to dialled calls.recived calls.and missed calls and will show u the numbers
This issue can also be resolved simply by removing the batteries first, then remove your SD memory card, clean the SD card up with an eraser on it's gold/copper contacts, clean it and replace battery on the phone and turn it on. It would turn on, and then you can put the memory card back in. It is a common 6288 bug.
Unless this suggestion works, then you can follow the reset codes given by gizmo above...
