Pontiac vibe check engine lite on after under carriage car wash

I noticed the yellow engine warning light is on steady after I left the car wash. The car manual says the electrical system may be wet and that the lite will go off when it dries out. How long does it take for the electrical system to dry out? I have driven the car for about 100 miles since and the light is still on steady, but not flashing. The car is acting normal and I do not notice any driving problems or noice. The weather has been wet lately, Will this delay the drying out?

I would suggest having a scanner connected to your vehicle. Oh sure water can affect somethings, but they either fail immediately or disappear a short time later. Depend of failure code found, I would look under the vehicle for an electrical connector inadvertantly disturbed at the car wash. Hope this helps

Have the vehicle scanned. Autozone will do this for free.

My 2003 pontiac vibe wont start it was running great the chk engine lite came on steady still ran great then one day turned off wont start again

Turn on switch and listen for the "buzz" from the fuel pump, if it has a good pump it should turn on for 3 seconds when key is on without cranking the motor. If engine turns faster than normal, likely a timing belt. These are my first checks for no start conditions.

Warning light --Upside down horseshoe with exclamation point

It should be letting you know that you have a tire pressure problem. If you still have the owners manual read it. It will explain what to do, what to look for and how to reset the light if need be.

Dash lights go off intermittently

I'm no expert, I recently purchased a 2003 vibe. I noticed the automatic headlight's sensors can be super-sensitive, about an hour hours before dusk they'll kick my headlights on (when the sun is still shining!), or sometimes when I go into an underpass, and then sometimes they'll realize it's light enough and turn themselves off. This would cause your dash lights to go to the 'headlights on' mode and turn the headlamp signal on, the intensity is controlled by the dimmer/dome light control on the left side of the dash. Check to see if the dimmer is down too far, as this could cause the lights to dim when the automatic headlights turn on. It's also possible that the dimmer is not working, thus no power is getting to the dash lights through the dimmer. Try testing it by starting the car in daylight, then manually turn on the headlights, then adjust the dimmer. Like I say, I'm no expert, just guessing because I've noticed it happen similarly on my Vibe, but my dimmer was at half-way, as I like it for night driving. Someday, I'd like to disable the automatic sensors and DRL.
