G1 camera doesnt work, only shows black screen everytime

Disable your accelerometer in your phone setup and see if it solves your problem.

Since a replacement is available for £46 on Amazon, and the repair charge would probably be at least that if not more, i should just replace it. And this time, don't drop it.

ive been having this same issue with my fone, have you not found any more information this problem ?

The background may have timed out. Press the "Menu" button next time before opening the device.

Did this happen all of a sudden? Was the phone dropped? Chances are the backlight in the screen went out or the ribbon cable inside the phone that connects the screen some how came loose.

I suggest you not download/buy pirated copies of game, and they might not have copied it correctly to the disk, and that causes it not to work.

ya....its a known issue that should be resolved when cupcake software is released.....

you WILL encounter this force close error message everytime to attepmt to delete messages if you have over 100 messages in the inbox....

just select menu > delete threads and select the force close error when it pops up. you should be okay.....just keep doing that till cupcake is out. if that doesnt help, youll need to have the phone reset. try going to MENU > SETTINGS > SD CARD AND PHONE STORAGE > RESET PHONE > ERASE EVERYTHING.

**as long as you remember you gmail username and password, all of your contacts and calander apps will be restored on the handheld. if you do not remember them, you will loose EVERYTHING if you complete this reset.**

ya......sorry guys. sounds like the phone is stuck on 'landscape mode'

you can try to reset it, but i doubt that this will help. you might need to contact t-mobile and get the thing replaced for the internal sensor that recognises the phoen is closed is just not registering.

either way t-mobile HAS to attempt this....so try this reset. it might just save you a phone call.

keep in mind, doing this master reset will clear all settings installed on the handset and clear out any personal data. if you can at leaset remember your gmail username and password, your contact info and calender info will be restored.....

select MENU > SETTINGS > SD CARD AND PHONE STORAGE >FACTORY DATA RESET > RESET PHONE > ERASE EVERYTHING

if that doesnt work and you just cant get into the phone, try doing this:

with the phone OFF press the house and the power buttons at the same time until a triangle with a yellow '!' shows up. as soon as you see that icon, release the keys and slide open the keypad. pres the 'ALT' and 'W' keys at the same time and wait for the phoen too boot up and attempt it again.

T-Mobile's number is 1800-937-8997 if that doesnt work. and ask for another phone. good luck all.

my phone keeps force closing when texting....i spoke to t mobile and they keep saying its something to do with people on o2... i think t mobile is completely clueless but never the less bit right as it is people on o2 which it keeps force closing and re sends back dated messages...lol which actually confuses most of my friends... if anyone knows why this happens please help

Try downloading Txtract from the G1 Market. It's listed under "tools". Use this application to save the text messages you've been hoarding to your SD card, then delete the text messages from your phone. Your G1 will work like new again!
