Painfully slow opening apps, especially Safari.

Also, the Vista Ultimate I installed under the VMWare Fusion virtual machine runs even slower, and often temporarily freezes. Very frustrating. Anybody have any ideas. When I bought the machine a year ago, all the reviews said it was lightning fast.

Whoops. I think I don't have a G4 because mine has the intel chip.

What is RAM that you have assigned to Vista running in VMWare? Try increasing it.

I have just plugged in the Blues Clues Kidzmouse. when I attempt to download the driver I get this pop up message ...

On a Mac, you have several options for installing software that allows you to run Windows and Windows applications.

A simple method goes to virtual machine. To run Windows in a virtual machine within macOS, use Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, or VirtualBox. This method will allow you to run Mac and Windows applications concurrently, though the virtual machine does not support as much Windows functionality as a dual-boot configuration.

How to run w7 with w8?

If you've installed win 7 in your system then you've to install another softwares to run another operating systems on single operating system. The Best I've used till now is "VMWare Workstaion" where VM stands for virtual machine. this can load almost tens of operating systems on single os. depending upon your RAM. After Installing this software you've to install win 8. so u can laod that os while operating in win 7 simultaneously.

I have Mavis Beacon teaches typing cd and I am trying to install it on windows 7 but it wont install i can only read the manual that adobe lets me, my questions is how do i download the program to windows...

What version of the typing program do you have? You have a few choices, depending on what OS runs the version you have.

If the program ran under Vista or XP (version 20 lists Vista compatibility), the compatibility mode is likely to work. For this, right click on the installer. Then choose Properties and then the Compatibility tab. Turn on Run program as Compatible with the appropriate OS. Then right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator. Then check if the program itself is running in the compatibility mode by right clicking again and choosing Properties.

If the compatibility mode doesn't work (for older versions of the software), you can use a computer (virtual, dual-boot, or true second machine) with an older version of Windows installed. If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can create a virtual XP computer for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Install them in order. Then install the XP software on the virtual computer and it will work. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.) All of the other options will require a licensed version of the older Windows OS. Please note that the virtual computer can't share files directly with the main computer. You'll need to save files to external or removable media (optical media or flash drive, for example) to share them.

Your final option is to upgrade to the current version. The 25th Anniversary edition runs under Windows 7. Other editions are not listed as compatible at the Broderbund site. You can try the Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Center for more information on tested software. My ISP is slow to connect to the site.

I hope this helps.

I ve a mac, how can I use Bernina software

Select and install virtualization software for your MacBook Pro. You can choose from several popular virtualization packages for the Mac, including Parallels Desktop for Mac, VirtualBox and VMware Fusion. VirtualBox is a free, open source software package, while Parallels Desktop and VMware Fusion are commercial software products

Install Windows within your virtualization software. You much purchase a copy of the Windows operating system if you do not already own it; it does not come with the virtualization software. Most virtualization software includes a wizard, or assistant, to guide you through the Windows installation. Windows will now run in a "virtual machine" on your MacBook Pro.

Install your Bernina Artista Embroidery Software on your virtual Windows system. You install software into the Windows virtual machine the same way you do on a physical PC.

Plug the Bernina security dongle into a USB port on your MacBook Pro. The Windows virtual machine acknowledges the dongle, and may ask you if the USB dongle is to be used with the Mac or Windows system. The dongle is a hardware device that provides copy protection for the Bernina embroidery software.

Run the Bernina Artista Embroidery Software by choosing it from the Windows Start menu

Error vmware does not open Virtual Machines.localized/Microsoft Windows XP 1 1.vmwarevm/Microsoft Windows XP 1 1.vmx" is not a valid virtual machine configuration file

Thanks for contacting Fixya Support, I am glad to assist.

What appears to be the issue, is that your .vmx (Virtual Machine File extension) which is what how your Windows XP virtual machine terminal launches and works, may possibly be corrupted. I have been using VMWare Fusion for my Macs for nearly 3 years and it is not uncommon for this type of file to become corrupted and fail to launch for no apparent reason.

The usual way to correct this inability to launch issue, is if you can use the VMWare Fusion console to revert back to a previous Snapshot (saved backups or "snapshots" of your previous Windows XP virtual terminal sessions) of that Windows Virtual Machine terminal in order to recover the functionality of the vm.

If you are not familiar with what a Snapshot in VMWare is, then that would mean chances are you have not used that function and therefore you would have no snapshots of any previous Windows XP sessions to revert back to.

If this is the case, the what I can recommend you try, is to reinstall the VMWare Fusion 3 software to overwrite the current copy you have to see if this can help repair your affected Windows XP .vmx file.

If this process does not help, then you may unfortunately have to create a new Windows XP virtual terminal if you have no back ups or Snapshots of previous sessions.

Please feel free to reply back to this post if you have further questions.

Hello,

You should add an ethernet adapter to your device list. Try to play with the VMware options: Bridged connection or through the host. Your setting may have changed.

Note: I have no experience with Macs, nor with Fusion. But I used VMware station to run Ubuntu on top of Windows XP. So do be indulgent with my suggestions and say: Father, forgive him for he knows not what he is doing.

On vista i have vmware 6

Your Guest OS uses a Virtual VGA adaptor. As with a normal computer it needs drivers. This usually is installed through VMware Tools. (VMware tells your guest OS there are all kinds of virtual devices. They don't exist physically but need their drivers since VMware uses the virtual devices to handle the Host PCs physical devices.

In order to install VMware Tools, go to:
VM > Install VMWare Tools.

Remember that you need Administrator rights.

Need more help? See the link below:
[Installing VMware Tools]

This should do the trick, let me know if this solved your problem.
