What carb does the powermate 6875 use?

What carb does the coleman powermate 6875 generator use (CA emission model)? It has a 11hp tecumsah engine.  The carb has an engraving of 5309 or maybe its 5389 then KJR.  I dont see any other number or anything that looks like a carb number on it.  I need a new carb, the aluminum housing is hogged out around the choke lever pivot point.  The carb looks like a series 4 emissions model, but im not sure which one.

I also have a generac 6250 generator with the same problem.  It has a 10hp tecumseh egine and the carb is stamped 511/G9 or maybe its 5111G9.  It looks like a series 2.  An idea on which carb this uses?

thanks

All of the components on those engines as well as all small engines are tracked by the engines MOD., SPEC., and SER. #s that is all inclusive, whereas those numbers alone depict the overall engine design.

The casting numbers on the carburetors will be of no help...

Tecumseh model numbers are either stamped into the starter
shroud or into a nameplate or tag that is bolted to through a crankcase bolt.
There are three groups of numbers that give information about the engine. The
first group of numbers will be the Model number, followed by the, Specification number and the last group of numbers are the Serial number.

Need a carburator for a powermate 6000

Hello Diana,

My name is Larry Boccioletti, I am a coleman repairman from Ontairo Canada. The Coleman you have I am presuming is a generator. Coleman do not supply engine parts for the generator.
If you can supply me the serial number I will try and locate what horsepower your unit is and the engine manufacturer. I will also
get you the part number and Canadian price for the carb.
That's the best I can do for now.
Thanks

Looking for a carb for a Coleman Powermate 500/6250 generator with a 10hp Briggs and Sratton engine...any suggestions?

As it is a Briggs Engine most quality Briggs dealers can get the carb. It isn't special to Coleman I don't believe.

Hi. I'm trying to help my Dad locate the replacement carburetor for his Coleman PowerMate Model PM0524000, SERIAL# 78661904. Can you help me?

Best way to find a carb is to start with the actual engine model number and type. It should be stamped on engine fan cover. With engine model information, contact local parts dealer for your brand of engine (not Coleman/Powermate, but Briggs, Kohler, Honda, etc.) There are many options for locating parts, including ebay once you have identified brand type model. Good luck

Need a stater kit for a powermate generator 6875

You will need to contact a Coleman dealer to purchase any parts. Fixya.com has no resources to order or sell parts for any consumer product.

Coleman 6875, Does it have an auto idle???

Hi,
If you've got an auto idle function you'll also have a switch somewhere to shut it off, so look for that first.
Engine surging is almost always a problem somewhere in either the air cleaner or the carb. Check the air cleaner, if it's not dirty take the bowl off the carb and look for dirt in the bottom.

Regards,
Carl

Wont turn over

Check the oil level, these generators have an oil monitoring system that prevents the engine running if the oil isn't all the way up to the bottom of the threads in the oil fill hole.
