There are 2 possibilities of green screen in this model.
1- Driver circuit of green gun is defective. 2- Screen itself is defective.
Now I want to know, do you have TV repair experience and basic electronics knowledge to test and check above 2 sections in TV?

Due to vertical section failure horizontal line apprears. You did not mention about picture. Green horizontal line means with picture or without picture. With picture means there is some leakage. Without picture only singe horizontal line means vertical section totally not working. Particularly green horizontal line means maybe leads to jungle ic failure. Please mention your simptom clearly what you get and what you will not get both video and audio. It will be helpful to answer. Based on your question this is my small information.

Your green CRT socket may have a solder crack, or it could be the CRT developing a short. You can switch the green CRT socket with the one from the red RT and see if it still flashes green. If it does then its your CRT, But if it now flashes Red, Its a problem in the green drive circuitry.Thts the quickest way to locate exactly where your trouble is. Those are called retrace lines and they are the result of the blanking pulse not having the desired effect. This could denote a problem in the Horizontal section of the TV. In this case the green gun is not being turned off as it goes back to the left side of the screen.

Hi, I have a Philips 29PT9009/12 TV. Recently I have begun to see horizontal green lines on my tv, when either watching a dvd or watch tv. This has gotten worse and now the green lines are more visible and the background is now turned a shaded green. Please help me. Thanks in advance

try adjusting the green screen control. remove the front bottom panel of the tv by removing any screws holding it in place. gently pull of the front panel, there are gromets holding it in place, you will be able to gently remove the front, just make sure you get all those screws. now reove the small wodden or plastioc panel. now you will see the screen/focus assy. check to see of the screen controls are the top 3 or bottom 3. adjusted the center screen it's the green one, the other 2 are the red & blue. it is best to adjust in a dark room where the lines will show up easier. good luck

Is good that you hit it and it reacts,very likely you have loose conections in different places but for the distorted picture you need to check the horizontal driver transformer and flyback after that is corrected you need to check the complete chassis for loose conections.Take your time.Good luck.
