Put the metal frame on the board - then turn them upside down. The skirt has four slits - where the knobs on the bottom of the board come through - pull the material tautly while snapping on buttons.

Hello,

I recently had the same problem. But I did find a model to help replace the skirt. Follow this website: http://www.kolcraft.com/instructions/B21-R2.pdf. I replaced my skirt. Good Luck, I don't think there will be any problems from those instructions. Good luck. Even though that was not the model I have, it gave great instructions for replacing the skirt.

Take the board base completely off. There are little legs on the bottom that pop out of the two metal support beams on bottom of bassinet. Put the separate metal frame on the board base. There are four little clips-two on each side-that the legs of the frame slide under. After those are attached-flip the whole unit upside down. Slide the bassinet cover over the board making sure that it is upside down and the sheer cover in middle is covering the board in the correct position. The four little legs on the bottom of board will fit through four little slits in the sheer part. Flip the board back over to right side and attached it back to the bottom frame-MAKE SURE the knobs push back into the two metal frame supports beams correctly! You can test this by lifting up on the entire bassinet-holding on the sides. If any side lifts up off the bottom frame-you do not have the cradle part (legs on board) inserted securely. Once the board is inserted-just pull down the skirt until it looks right and snap the skirt to the board from the inside of cradle. Lastly-do not forget to secure the big, white snaps on the board to grip around the bottom frame. There are slits in the board and the sheer part to pull through.

I need help assembling the bodice for simplicity pattern 1028. Help I promised my little girl I would make a cinderella dress before we go to disney!

Quite an undertaking if not very experienced with sewing...

The pattern instructions should step you through the process--just follow it chronologically.

There are multiple web sites that will help with the process as well. Generally, match & pin together the bodice front and bodice side for both right & left side. Then match & pin together bodice back and bodice side for both right & left side. Then match & pin front to back shoulder (both right & left side) and stitch. Match the bodice backs & bodice fronts, and stitch (both sides). (Since it is a girl's pattern, there are probably no bust darts to deal with.) Sew the skirt pieces together (front to back), then gather the skirt waist. Match pattern marks of skirt waist to bodice waist and stitch. Add zipper. Then finish neckline and armholes and then hem skirt.

You can also take your pattern to the fabric store (like JoAnn's) and ask if anyone there can provide advice.

Usually with a wrap dress, you join front triangular pieces to bodice back at shoulders and side seams (often leaving a slit open in one side seam to pull the tie through). Then stay stitch neck and front edges to prevent stretching. Then neaten neck edges turn and stitch, or attach a facing. Probably if this pattern has a facing then you may need to attach skirt to waist and also attach the tie ends to the front edge before facing is attached. So when you turn facing to inside you will have the tie end in position at the point of the bodice/skirt seam on both sides of the dress.

Can't put back together

It is very difficult. My parents and I spent about 3 hours on it, and my husband came home and did it in about 5 minutes. You have to actually put the hard-wood board and frame part in the liner. You have to pull it really tight, and the bit of printed material with the Warning sign should fold from the outside in. This puts the ruffle part close to the top--but on the outside. The buttons will snap all around, and the strappy things on the bottom hook around that bottom basket part and snap. You will be able to see the wood before you put the little mattress back in. I really hope that helps--we were so frustrated.
