The restore plus cd only formats the drive and makes a partition, it does not load the OS or repair it.

The set up disk will do the same thing when you reinstall the OS, you can format and make a extra partition if you want, but the OS auto makes a small partition for the booting record.

If you have a problem you need the set up disk or to use the HP backup and recovery manger.

Download AND install the Audio driver.

You can download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP orVista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click onthis link to download the drivers: -

If you cannot access the machine after if has been powered up, it is still possible to get past the BIOS password. The BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory that is maintained while the PC is powered off by a small battery, which is attached to the motherboard. If you remove this battery, all CMOS information (including the BIOS password) will be lost. You will need to re-enter the correct CMOS setup information to use the machine. The machines owner or user will most likely be alarmed when it is discovered that the BIOS password has been deleted.

just install the operating system with normal windows cd and install the driver form internet.

Check to see if there is a recovery partition on your hard drive. Usually this will be hidden unless you know where to look for it. Here are the steps:

1. Go to Start Panel
2. Right-Click my computer
3. Click manage
4. This will open a seperate window with the title computer management on top of it
5. In the left pane you want to look under storage and select DIsk Management
6. This will give you a snapshot of your hard drive, if your hard drive is split into more than one partition and that partition is at the least 5-8 Gb, chances are you have a recovery partition. Run this check then let me know what you find

try to burn a new cd. may be your burnt cd is not ok.
if you use a cdrw, try to use a cdr. may be your cd-drive have problems to read
your burn't cd.
