You have described a power problem. the unit is not coming on.Are you using the proper PSA adapter on this thing? If using a generic one, make sure the polarity is correct. Most of these things are wired backwards as compared to other types of devices. Does it work with batteries? This is where to start on a diagnosis. If it does, the wires from the batteries go through the socket where the adapter plugs in. Try spraying contact cleaner into the socket in case it is dirty or stuck in an open position. One more thing, IF a generic adapter was plugged into it that was opposite polarity, it may have burnt a diode on the circuit board. (a microscopic one at that)

Best sound for dsl15h and MT-2

To achieve a tone similar to Synyster Gates' A7X sound, you may want to start with the following settings:
Green channel:
  • Bass: 5-7
  • Mid: 2-4
  • Treble: 5-7
  • Presence: 5-7
  • Gain: 7-8
Red channel:
  • Bass: 3-5
  • Mid: 3-5
  • Treble: 5-7
  • Presence: 5-7
  • Gain: 8-10
When using the Boss MT-2 pedal, set the tone control to around 12 o'clock and the level to taste. This should give you a good starting point for a heavy metal tone.
It's important to note that these settings are just a starting point, and you may need to tweak them to suit your own personal taste, playing style and the room you're playing in.
Keep in mind that the MX112 cab will also affect the sound,so you may need to play with the eq settings on the head and the pedal to achieve the sound you are looking for.
Also, keep in mind that the sound of the DSL15H head with the MX112 cab will be different than the sound that Synyster Gates gets with his rig. However, the settings above should help you achieve a similar overall tone.

Display screen not working

Most likely low power from the power supply. I would check this first.

Why are there only two dots when I power on?

1. Make sure that you have the correct power supply plugged in.
2. If you are using the BOSS power supply, it could be defective. Measure the voltage it is producing and make sure it is correct.
3. If the voltage is correct, then the problem is inside the unit, and it will need servicing.

I have a Boss GT -10 and its great. When I plug in my Gibson les paul into it and play it, there is sound. When I plug in my Other les paul with emgs in it, no sound comes out. I plugged them both into...

The half-way cord is the clue. Read up on unbalanced and balanced lines and TRS connectors.
One of these requires TRS connections and the signal is being carried on the RING of the TIP-RING-SLEEVE connector. Plugging in half-way the TIP touches the ring pickup contact. The emgs one MAY use TRS type cables and there may be a reason the signal and hot of these are reversed. If I could find schematics on all this equipment I could unravel the exact cause. You could make an adapter with a Stereo 1/4 inch plug and a 1/4 inch jack by wiring it to swap the tip and ring between them to use for connecting to the emgs guitar. ALSO verify you are using the SAME type guitar cable for both.OFTEN a TRS cable will NOT turn on the electronics when plugged into a guitar. Use an unbalanced instrument cable unless you have the XLR type output. Use of an adapter from the XLR type cable into the Boss will usually not work.

I HAVE THE BOSS BR-900CD AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO WORK FINE BUT NOTHING SHOWS UP ON THE SCREEN. IT LIGHTS UP BUT NO DATA SHOWS UP. THANKS

If all other controls are working, check IF they have a "Contrast" setting for the display. When those are at end of range, the display often is blank.

My boss digital delay works when engaged but no sound when not

sounds like the true bypass line has been damagd. Should be easy enough to fix. Pop open the unit and do a visual inspection first, if nothing is noticeable then do a continuity check with an ohm meter from input to output with the delay efffect off. If you don't read a short in this situation then your problem lays within the signal path and its switched path.

Is the Boss Dr-5 compatable with the Boss BR-1180 mini studio?

Midi doesn't actually "make sound". If your trying to record the patterns you made on the DR-5 to the recorder you need to use an audio output(I don't remember if they are RCA or 1/4" on the DR-5.) The midi output would be used to"trigger sounds" in another device that has sounds built in, or you could also trigger sounds in a program that supports midi input.
