Nikon SB-600 during middle of the shoot, sb600 stopped flash, and test flash light is no, ready light is off, after awhile, standby mode kicks in, and it displayed bat, so I recharge battery and tried it again, same problem, I doubt it that's cause by the battery, is there anything I could do at this point. I had this flash for about over one year now, but I don't use it frequently.

NiMH batteries -Sanyo Eneloop is what I was using, but afterward I did a discharge and recharge on them, they work fine on another SB 600. can you pin point the battery and flash contact points(metal on the door of battery compartment?)

Seems like the batteries have gone dead. Replace the batteries. Get a set of good capacity rechargeable NiMH batteries (I recommend Sanyo Eneloop). Also try cleaning the battery and flash contact points with an eraser.

Yes. The contact points are the metal on the door and inside the battery compartment. If possible, clean the points in the compartment as well (though it is difficult). Try to use the eraser on the tip of a pencil for this so that you can reach deep inside.Hope this solves the issue.

Sb 600 not able to get out of standby

If you cannot release Standby from within the menu options, here is one thing I did: removed all batteries then pumped the on/off button numerous times. Upon replacing the batteries the issue is solved. If that does not work then it may need to go to Nikon. The SB600 seems to have more issues than the SB800 and up.

Speedlight SB-600 TTL Flash: When I set my SB600 (mounted on D70) to TTL or TTL...

the sync speed for the sb-600 is onlt 1/200 on most cameras i think so if your shutter is faster then that then all you will see is black/ the curtans behind the shutter.

basicly just try again with a slower shutter speed

Nikon sb600 flash

Auto zoom only works when on the hot shoe of the camera. You also need to make sure that its in the righht mode (make sure that above the word Zoom on the display it doesn't have a "m").

Oh and of course you have to have a CLS (Creative LIghting System) compatible camera.
