Transmission fluid! You need to find the leak and stop it; top up the transmission before it is damaged. Check the lower pan for a gasket leaking and examine the transmission fluid cooler lines running to radiator or to in front of radiator.

Red can be power steering fluid and also transmission fluid. You didn't say where under the engine it was coming from. Be safe!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is a humming sound when I turn the steering wheel when the car is running - Chrysler Crossfire 2004

This is usually an indication of air in your power steering fluid. Check your power steering reservoir. If it is low service it to the recommended level. It may take some time for all the air to work out of your system, so don't expect the humming to stop immediately.

Hello , there is a low humming sound when I turn my car on or when I accelerate and when i turn my car off there is a ticking sound what could this be?

Well an exhaust leak is not usually a hum, more like a rumble.
You should be able to listen under the car while someone is revving up the engine and hear an exhaust leak.
The ticking sound is normal for metal that is very hot and cooling off.
The burning smell could be oil leaking onto the exhaust manifold or pipe.

I have a 2006 H3 and I just noticed red fluid leaking from the front end yesterday but today there is no leak. I did hear a strange hissing or whistling like sound when I accelerated. Is this somethin

Most likely one of the transmission cooling lines which go from the transmission to the side of one or the radiator expansion tanks has rusted through. It is making that noise because you are driving it with no transmission fluid in it. If you continue to drive it you will break the trasmission.

My 2009 corrolla is dropping red oil on the floor just under the right side of the front bumper, especially after driving but stops when parked in a static position

Transmission and (ATF) power steering fluid is red. You can start by checking both fluid levels. If one is low, that will narrow down what one is possibly leaking. If either fluid level gets too low, you should notice things like...power steering making a whining noise, or hard to turn steering wheel. Transmission may also make whining sound, and may not accelerate like it normally should. Sounds like a possible high pressure line has a leak, since it stops when engine is off. The only way to know for sure is to wear safety glasses and while the vehicle is running, try to safely identify where it is leaking from. Be careful of moving parts. Might be best to take it to a mechanic shop, or the dealer.

sounds like your transmission. if the fluid is red or in your case, a really dark red almost brown, then it is your transmission. you might be able to catch it in time to have the leak fixed and save the transmission.

Loud low hum coming from the front of the car when accelerating. The handbrake/brake fluid light occasionally flickers on as I'm driving too. I recently hit the curb quite ******* the front left wheel. Do...

Hi ea
Im dave

The loud low hum sounds like a wheel bearing although i cant actually hear it. Does the sound get louder on right turns? Brake light coming on usually means low fluid check your fluid resorvoir if it below the max mark fill to the max mark. If it has run dry you probably need to bleed your brakes. The light however could mean your handbrake isnt fully released. Be sure it is all the way off if fluid level is adequate and the positioning of the cable is not kinked somewhere under the handbrake.
