No sound from ty but i get sound when the combo vcr/dvd attached to tv i will get a sound
First you have to check the volume settings tried to make some adjustment and also look the set up in the audio which in mute option. if the settings are ok, then with no any voice is coming the cause is either a bad speaker or a problem in the amplifier circuit. this time you will need to open the back cover of the tv to check the speaker using an analog tester to ensure weather it is worn out.if ok, next will be voltage checking at the amplifier ic if available, if it has 12vdc supply at the pin of the ic. you can check also burnt parts at the amplifier section. if you think you can not do the repair ust leave it to the trained tv repairman good luck.

If that is the only input that the tv has it's still usable. Just plug the Cable TV or antenna cable into the DVD/VCR coaxial input labeled "in" (instead of the TV's) and hook one from the DVD/VCR's "out" to the "in" on the tv. Turn the TV to channel 3 or 4 (depends on DVD/VCR settings) and use the built in TV tuner on the DVD/VCR to change channels.

You trying to put the DVD/VCR combo between the cable box and the TV? OK, cable out goes to vcr in, vcr out goes to tv, I think you got that. Now there should be a tv/vcr button on the vcr/dvd, you need to press that when the unit is on. Also, make sure you are on the correct input on both the vcr and the tv, usually video 1 or AUX and choose line in or L1 on the vcr/dvd. If the tv/vcr button is toggled, itll completely bypass the vcr/dvd player.
SOURCE: no sound on TV
If the TV programs come's up with sound, then is possible that the TV set could be problem free. then cheek the system frequency if it need to be adjust from NTCS, PAL, AUTO MESECAM and so on. Cheek the DVD and VCR if they are in one of the following system settings and adjust the TV set to the settings at which the DVD or VCR is set to. Then you can also cheek if the cable is properly inserted, that is audio to audio and video to video. Nevertheless, if you have properlly connected your cables and set the system frequency to match with each other, and still no sound, then the TV could have sound problem.
Possible courses of sound failure in TV are as follows:-
1 RF stage
2 sound Ics or transistors
3 broken speakers
4 a break down resistor which supplie positive voltage to the sound curcult

unplug the tv then try to drill a real small hole in the broken off part of the cable that is inthe tv, then take a sharp pointed screw and try to thread it into the hole that you drilled if able to get it started then pull out on the screw to see if it will come out. If not able to do it this way you will have to take the back off and some of and see if you can push the broken part out from the inside. Be sure to unplug your tv from (AC) so you dont get hurt. If that dont work then u probley willhave to take to a shop to get fixed.
