try with restarting computer & press F8 at the same time. u will see a menu where choose "safe mode" & start the computer. in safe mode see the display properties, set the refresh rate & resolution according to monitors specifications, apply & restart again. if that does not work, replace the main board of lcd monitor.

if you are using integrated video, your integrated video is fried, done gone. if you have a pci or pcie or vga video card, its gone or blown or dead as a doornail. replace the video card and youll be up and running again
Open it up and the first place to look will be the power supply section, look for bad caps with bulging top/bottomseal, post back what you see so we can guide you further, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
leos343872, Black screen type of failure. Is anything still displayed even though screen is black when you hold flashlight 1 inch from lower left corner near start button??? Possible "switch-mode-power-supply" in shutdown mode. Tech or you will need to evaluate further!! Not an expert, but from what Ive read, this is a cfl inverter issue. I had the same problem on my Sceptre. Good luck finding parts. My solution: get another monitor.
