Please reinstall the program to correct the problem." This problem consists on both my laptop and desktop. One has Windows XP the other Vista. Can you help.

It may be dirty. Try to clean the disc with smooth cloth. Reinstall it again. If still persists, it is on your OS copy problem.

Noticed in the install.log the file ILI.exe was originally loaded during install, but not on my computer. Looked on another computer I had and the file was there. It normally resides in C:\Windows\System32 but will work if you put it in the Qvlib folder or where ever you have Quickverse Library.

I also needed another fix in the registry. I did a search on qvlib which is my folder name where Quickverse Library resides. In

one instance the data pointed to a wrong location so I corrected it and got my Quickverse Library working again.

How the registry got changed is anyones guess, but it wasn't changed by me. Hope this helps some who obviously have the same problem. It really is a great piece of software that I have been using for years. Best

This error message also appears when trying to install Navpress' WORDSearch 5.0. Since my WORDSearch 5.0 application was running fine for more than 10 years, and it is no longer supported by its manufacturer, it is my humble opinion that Microsoft Updates has downloaded and installed "something" that has rendered an otherwise productive application... at this point useless. I am currently striving to understand the dynamic of why this occurred and/or how it can be "fixed". I will be intouch relative to "our" chanllenge. Lastly, I previously used a "CD/DVD electric-run cleaning machine" to no avail. Typically these kins of errors are due to "CALLS" within programs within the application that either point to a non-existant or corrupted location, or as I believe in this case since it now obvious to me that this is a global issue, somewhere someplace some of our DLLs or EXEs have been modified via Microsoft Updates.

My netbook is in a differant launge

Changing Computer Language to English in Windows XP If you bought your computer with Windows XP in some other language set as default, you need not worry. You can always change it using the Control Panel. English, along with several widely used languages, is present in almost all Windows XP installations. You only need to set it up so that your copy of Windows XP works with English.
The following steps explain how to change computer language to English in Windows XP.
1. Open Control Panel and double click on the Regional and Language Options icon.
2. In the first tab, Regional Options, select English (US), English (UK), or any other English (there are many versions of English pre-loaded) as per your wish. The option is available in the first drop down list under Standards and Formats (see Fig 1). You may also click the Customize button next to the drop down to customize the format of date, time, currency etc.
3. Click on the next tab, Languages and then click the button labeled Details. In the Text Services and Input Languages dialog box, you can see all the installed languages. Select English in the list of available languages under Default Language Settings (Fig 2).
4. To create a keyboard shortcut for switching among installed languages, use the Key Settings under Preferences (Fig 3). Please note that you can also use the Language bar to switch among languages. Click OK to close the dialog box.
5. To set English as the default language for the particular user account, click on the Advanced tab of Regional and Language Options dialog box. Make sure English is being displayed in the drop down box and check the last option in the dialog box (See Fig 4).
6. Click OK to close the dialog box and logoff for the settings to take effect.
Though this is the most common method used to change the computer language to English in Windows XP, it only changes the GUI and sometimes creates problems with few applications such as Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. If you are facing such problems, you can download MUI patches from MS download center.
NOTE: The above method is often considered as a temporary solution when you have to use different languages. To change the computer language to English in Windows XP so that it has a system wide affect, it is recommended that you perform a fresh install of Windows XP and select English when prompted for language during installation. Later, you may install other languages as required.

Install problem

It sounds like the Windows installations are missing the language-library file LATIN.LNG that the STEP module is trying to load in order to work.
First. see IF the file is on your HDD via DOS commands:
From START search-bar, type CMD then click the CMD icon.
At the command prompt, enter

CD\
dir/a/s/b'find/i "latin.lng"

sit back... this takes awhile....
You can also redirect output to a text-file with >X:\phoundit.txt
X:\ being replaced with the drive-letter of your flash-drive.

If not found on HDD, check your Windows OEM install disks 2C if the file exists there, maybe stored in a cabinet file named Languages or similar.

If all else fails, the Microsoft website may have a download version of the missing file.

Oki C5150 printer menu is part english part spanish. It comes up in english when you click print but all the other pages are in spanish(?)

How To:
Uninstall a Spanish or Portuguese driver and install the English version when Windows XP installs the incorrect language, where either a couple of the tabs are in the wrong language, or everything is incorrect.

Action:

IMPORTANT NOTE: THE PRINTER MUST BE TURNED OFF DURING THIS PROCEDURE OTHERWISE WINDOWS WILL AUTOMATICALLY INSTALL THE SPANISH OR PORTUGUESE DRIVER AGAIN. DO NOT USE PLUG 'N PLAY FOR DRIVER INSTALLATION.

1. Delete the Driver Icon from the Printers and Faxes Window.

IMPORTANT STEP:
2. Reboot the PC

3. Click on File --> Print Server Properties
0.2c6?openelement&fieldelemformat=gif

5. Click on the Drivers Tab.

6. Highlight the driver being deleted (C5200n shown as a reference below), and click on Remove.
0.347e?openelement&fieldelemformat=gif

IMPORTANT STEP:
7. Reboot the PC

8. Go back into the Server Properties Drivers Tab (as shown above), and click on the Add... button.

9. On the first screen click on Next.

10. On the Printer Driver Selection Screen, click on Have Disk.
4.7ce?openelement&fieldelemformat=gif

11. Browse to the location of the English driver that is to be installed and click on OK (Note, the C5200n printer is being used as a reference and the driver being installed is from the CD).
7.3852?openelement&fieldelemformat=gif

12. On the next screen the printer being installed should be highlighted, and click on Next.
9.628?openelement&fieldelemformat=gif

13. The next window Will show the version of the driver being installed, DO NOT click on any of the unchecked boxes and just click on Next.
12.6e6?openelement&fieldelemformat=gif

14. Click Finish on the last window.

15. Finally, turn on the printer. Windows XP will automatically find the printer and install the English version of the driver.
