I need to get a driver so quickverse 7.0 will work with vista. any tips are appreciated. thanks
QV not running in Vista: Right clicking on the desktop quick verse icon and running as administrator works.
I tried the following and it works. I had several bad installs and this works. My guess is that the first steps are not necessary, but they won't hurt.
1. Insert the first CD and explore to find the autorun file. Right click and choose properties, and run it in compatability mode with Windows 98.
2. Right click again on the autorun file and choose to run it as administrator.
3. Follow all the regular steps for installation.
4. On the new shortcut, right click and choose properties, run in compatability mode with Windows 98.
5. Finally, right click on the shortcut icon and choose to run the file as administrator.
Good luck. It is a wonderful software I have had for ten years and used on a half dozen computers.

Thanks much. I was afraid i'd have to purchase a newer version which I didn't want to do. Quickverse 7 works great for me. Your fix was spot-on. Thanx.
Thanks for the help. i actually got it to work by simply installing and then right clicking the desktop icon and then selected run as administrator. it was accidental but it works ( : thanks
I have QuickVerse 7.0 Deluxe and could not get it to install on my Vista Laptop. I made a file in My Documents folder and then took each disc and installed the first disc and then took the disc and opened up the files and added the whole disc by copy and paste to the folder. I then did the same for the rest of the disc's and it now is working. So if nothing else works try that.

I have installed my Quickverse 7 on my new vista laptop and get the error 'Failed to register the component "QVEDIT.OCX". Make sure the file is in the program director. I checked and it is? Has anyone solved this roblem?
I couldn't get this fix to work - tried with and without "Run as administrator" (with it set, it seemed to not find MSVCRT4.dll). Any other suggestions? It sounds like some people got it to install without the backwards compatibility switch set - I can't get it to install as it crashes during the setup of menus and shortcuts. This is on Vista Home Premium.
