Sounds like your screen is physically broken. If your Somebody needs to open
your Blackberry and replace it. If you want somebody else to do
it for you go to Blackberry Repair. If you want to do it yourself, here is an Blackberry 8520 Repair Guide that shows how to repair a Blackberry.
try going into your options and to screen/keyboard then change the font and size and see if anything happens. did this start after the battery died for a while?
Ok, my phone had the same problem. I took the face plate off and the screen out and there's actually a little connector that connects to a board behind the screen(can come unplugged for replacement). I fiddled around a little with it and it worked fine. about a week or 2 later it happened again. I tried fixing it again and it would just flash white>black>lines>white, repeat. I know my phone's taken a bit of abuse, dropped down a road, soaked in rain, but it always worked after. These phone screens aren't meant to take abuse. Problem; the phone screen died. Solution; get a new screen.
same problem, broke my screen, ordered a new screen off ebay and replaced it. now it works fine most of the time but sometimes external display freezes. sometimes goes black, sometimes goes multicolor pixelated (full screen, in blocks, or lines) when this happens sometimes touchpad still works, others not. removing battery usualy temporarily fixes.
