97 ford taurus GL idles and kills when putting it in gear

Probably carb? Automatic choke not working? Remove air filter and spray carb with cleaner, Make sure all parts move freely. With engine cold, check automatic choke position. Start and check function as it warms up.

Use a flat blade screwdriver if its got two jubilee clips make sure the car is cold!,,,,as you risk burning yourself also after you replace the hose put water in and put heater settings on hot start the car let it get to temperature halfway on temp guage switch car off and let cool down completly check water level and top up if neede

My 1997 ford taurus won't blow any cold air. The hoses feel really cold. But nothing blows into the car itself.

Have you checked the level of the transmission oil ? The level does not have to be down much to encounter the type pf problem you are having. With the oil warm and the engine idling in neutral, the Transmission dipstick should show the level between the low and full marks.

sounds like you are low on fluid if not then it's time for AAMCO to take a look

If the positive wire is getting hot, then you have a bad connection on the ground wire. Take it off and clean the terminals and tighten then up. Ifyou don't want them to corrode any more then put some petroleum jelly on them. This prevents air from getting to them and in turn prevents oxidation. Good luck

try putting one bottle of brake fluid in the tranny while running let it run for bout 10 or 15 minutes then try driving then tell me what happens

I had this problem with my 98 taurus i tried jumping it wouldn't start, mine was the fuel pump check.

check the vaccum hoses to make sure none are off and check the timing and also the drive belt and also check the vacuum hose behind the throttle body

It means the engine mounts and tranny mounts are shot replace them and it will stop! Also your idle might be too high due to a TPS sensor malfunction.
