If you did not insert a different SIM card in your mobile phone, then the SIM card may have developed a fault or the SIM card has run out of credits and needs to be re-charged. I suggest you contact Optus to sort out this problem.

hi, You will have to make sure the battery and sim card are both properly placed.This means the sim card should fit perfectly into it's slot and the battery has to lap over it perfectly as well. If this does not work then you may try using another sim card in the phone or you try using the sim on another phone to check if it is the sim that has the fault. most of the time it is either the sim is not properly placed or the sim card is gone bad.

The "Unregistered SIM" message means that you're using a SIM card for which this phone is not intended. You will need to have the phone unlocked and it should work.
If it is a new fone thenPhones are not shipped activated. You should look in the box for activation instructions. Read and follow them. is that a prepaid sim then probably the sim has been deactivated...
If the phone is saying unregistered sim It basically means that the sim card has either not been activated at all or has not been activated to be used with that handset... Simply contact your carrier and they should be able to asess the situation over the phone
