I had verizon dsl modem that didn't work so verizon sent me a new one that was a modem/router and now I can't use my ASUS modelRT-N13U wireless router to extend my wireless range. I was told that I should turn off the router part of my new router/modem but I don't know how....
Make sure ASUS modelRT-N13U wireless router is turned on then unplug your new router wait about 30 seconds then plug it back in.
It should find your wireless router.
Here is a web site with more trouble shooting advice:

Hope this helps

the IP address must be different on the router & extender but use the same subnet mast. The extender has to have the gateway set as the IP address on the router.

SOURCE: forgotten password for D-Link DSL G604T wireless router
These are the default settings:
When the login window appears, set the user name to Admin and leave the password box empty. If this doesn't work, you may also try admin for both username and password (all small letters).
If the default doesn't work, you may reset the password by pressing the reset button for 30 seconds. This will bring the router to factory default settings (including all the configurations set on the router).
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Will my DSL 300G Modem work
it will work if the subscription would also be an adsl line. but you need to know the new providers settings including type of connection (pppoe, dhcp, etc) and the vci settings. once you place the settings correctly, it will work.
