You should buy a bowl that can fit 1-2 cups of your cat's food (average cat meal).

I'm thinking about buying my cat a plastic bowl. Is this a good idea?

Plastic bowls aren't the best choice for your cat. They are the cheapest though so if you're looking to save a few bucks, they're a good choice. If you are going to buy your cat a plastic bowl, you have to make sure that your cat is not allergic to plastic because there are many cats that are. Also, you have to make sure you clean the plastic bowl very thoroughly because it tends to absorb many bacteria.

How deep should a cats bowl be?

The depth of a cat bowl depends on a number of variables, most importantly the number of cats using the bowl. I suggest placing a few bowls in various places around the house. This way you can be sure that each of your cats will have water when they need it. The bowl should be large enough that your cats whiskers do not touch the sides of the bowl.

I need a small bowl for my dogs kennel. Can anyone recommend a good place to buy one?

Almost any pet store or a local Wal-Mart will carry water bowls specific for kennel use. I will send you a few links to some to get you started in your search for the right one for you.

Replace rubber on dog dish

I had the same problem and will be making the replacement rubber rings for pet food dishes - available in approx. 2 months. I will be offering replacement rings for 6" diameter steel bowls at first, but will move into the larger sizes soon thereafter.
