I have not used my samsung for a few months now, so when i came i tried to start it up again, it doesnt work. I gave it a good charge and the keypad and touch screen buttons light up, but the screen remains blank.

Sound like you will have to forget those numbers or ask o2 to provide a list you rang in lets say last 3 months and just ring every1 and ask who they are. Then get any new sim and follow simswap procedure for free
I have had the same problem for ages. I have got around it by stil using predictive text but when you have finished typing the word dont press space. Press "right" to take you to the end of that word then space then you can the type your next word. You have to press right after every word but it's better than texting without predictive.
HI Samsung U600 is a Quadband phone not Tri-Band Phone and as long as you had it unlocked, it will work in USA. I had Samsung U600 so I am sure with you about this. Welcome to America
