Mac does not recognize...

I have a new mac operating on the most current operating system... for the last couple months, I would plug the chord into the USB port, the computer would recognize the Simpledrive (it's an 80 GB if that matters for support purposes) and everything would be fine... however, about a week ago, the computer randomly stopped recognizing the simpledrive was plugged in! Simpletech customer service kept me on hold for about 30 minutes before I decided to try asking you guys instead... I've tried restarting, shutting down, etc... ive also tried plugging it into a firend of mine's computer, but nothing seems to recognize it! I dont know what to do or what to try... my whole life is on this thing and I need it back!!! thanks for you help....

Haskel, Have you tried a different USB wire? Constantly remove of the cord can wear down the contacts/something is on the contacts? Check that I'll get back to you if I find anything relevant. Good Luck, Tim

Tried to plug in my mac to a dynex flatscreen using VGA gagaware chord. screen is black and says "not supported". is there a way to make this work?

The answer is NO with a possible yes... NOT with the VGA connection, not going to happen EVER. On the other hand, if the TV has an HDMI port, then I suggest you connect your MAC using an HDMI cord suited for that purpose. You should be able to get satisfactory results.

Mac does not recognize my retractable number pad

Maybe it is not recognized by the MAC operating system. Just download driver associated with MAC operating system and install it. Some hardware need software driver to be able to work. Some just plug and play.

I have just bought a new Mac computor and Im using imovie to create a film. I am using both pictures and videos for my movie, but every time I place a picture directly after a piece of film, the film...

Maybe, it's not the reason of being a mac user makes you experience that problem. Your program you used for your mac computer is not working well because it might be not compatible for your operating system. Before installing a program into your computer, make sure that it will pass it's requirements and before you click the installer of the program, use troubleshoot compatibility. That process will allow you to choose what operating system your program would run.:D

MacBookpPro osx10.4.11 doesn't recognize new WD passport

the problem is that your western digital operates using the NTFS (New Technology File System) which is the standard file system of Windows. Apple macs is not interopable with native NTFS therefore you need to install a read-write NTFS file-system driver on your mac.

an excellent free mac NTFS driver can be found here-

Plugged alluratek ahdu350 to a mac, and the mac doesn't recognize

Firstly make sure You are not connecting it via a hub or extender but directly to motherboard ports [ ports "sticking out" of Your mac computer], secondly make sure the enclosure has no loose connections,
Please note devices like hard drives are real power hogs, just usb connection may not be enough power, You should have a power adapter You can plug to a wall outlet to give extra amps to Your device
Should it power on fully, make sure to go to system details [you go there by ressing a button in "about my mac" little window from the apple logo menu and check under usb listing if it is listed
lastly go to disk utility and check if the drive is visible, if it is not mounted it may need formatting

I downloaded a Sansa video converter and it keeps saying that my Sansa is not connected after i connect it. Can i have some assistance please?

do u have windows or mac system? if mac,
Although MAC OS is NOT a supported operating system, the Sansa player can still be recognized if the Sansa player is only plugged in MSC mode.

MAC computers do NOT support MTP
A Sansa player in MTP mode when plugged into a MAC computer will NOT be detected or recognized.

MAC computers supports Sansa players in MSC mode
Sansa players can only be recognized by a MAC if the USB mode on the Sansa player is set to Auto Detect or MSC.
See answer ID 207 for instructions on how to put your Sansa player in MSC mode.

See answer ID 1141 for instructions on transferring music to your Sansa player using iTunes on a MAC computer.
