I had this problem when the handset got WET did it get wet by chance? If so you need to ensure it stays in a dry not too hot a place for a day or two REMEMBER to have the power off and also out of the back too.
I got the three colours all i done was took the battery out while the phone was on and then restarted the phone (after replacing the battery) Do this Once or twice more if it fails then you will have to do a reboot. go to www.bt.com/help/broadband anywhere (british telecom safe site for htc handset help) The site will give you the info required to reboot handset. Hope this is of help to you. Even if your handset was not wet i would do the battery bit and the reboot too.......
