How do I wire up a external speaker to a Uniden SMG1525DT Radio?

I know this is an older radio but it is all our Fire Department can afford.
The Radio Has an accessory connector on the back with a wire on a loop to the connector.
Also the speaker is a uniden speaker with two wires.
Thanks
Mike

Pins 2 and 3 on the accessory connector are for an external speaker and pins 1 and 2 are for the internal speaker.

The radio has no sound our of the speaker. What is a phone # that I could speak with a repair person?

1-800-554-3988 or check local for a marine/radio (ask the local PD or Fire who repairs their radios) repair shop. The ACC cable from the back has wire colors orange(+) and black(-) for external speaker wire connections. Connect a 8 ohm speaker to eliminate the internal speaker gone bad. Have a nice day.

Why does the Uniden 40-Channel CB Radio (PRO505XL) "PA" acts like an extra external speaker!

nothing, thats what its supposed to do. Don't try transmitting on pa though you will blow that speaker. the type you would need is a bull horn speaker.

Why doesn't my radio operate in the "PA" mode?

Some radio's do this (specifically Uniden) for some unknown reason. Ideally you plug a speaker into the PA output and when you switch to PA mode, the CB transceiver part should turn off and only your voice should come out of the PA EXT speaker to make it act like a personal megaphone.

HOW TO ADD EXTERNAL SPEAKER ON A UNIDEN 525?

Hi!
From your owner's manual (page 12) use the blue(-) and the brown (+) wires from your GPS/External speaker connector cable to your external speaker. I've included the owners manual link to your radio.

I need a schematic for a uniden pc 78 elite cb radio

I will assume you have also looked for the schematic as a Cobra 29ltd which is the same radio----Check the internal speaker with a meter first and also examine the external speaker jack which will cut the inside speaker off.

Lastly a microphone with a broken wire in any area will kill receive audio.

I have a PC 78XL CB radio and it is on but cant hear nothing ,volume is turn up

Make sure squelch is turned down enough---if meter shows signal and no audio the internal speaker may be bad (plug one into external jack on rear of the radio).

If the radio transmits and shows it (or someone can hear when you xmit) the problem is in the audio circuit of the radio.

Check internal/external speaker AND SWAP THE MIC as a mic with a broken wire inside or open element as well can cause this.

Where can we go to get a wiring diagram for the wires that exit the radio. The green and yellow are together and orange and brown are together. Then two black

I realize this question has been here forever, but I've included the link to the Owner's Manual in case anyone requires it. Page 5 shows which wires go to/from external equipment. Orange (+) and the small black (-) are for your external speaker. Green is + for gps data in while the brown is GPS ground. Yellow is not used.

Ive got a Uniden BC248 CLT Base Scanner. In the back of it, there are two holes for input/output of some sort, What is the diference in the am radio antenna vs. the antenna ?

Your scanner has four connections on the back. Looking at the rear, from left to right, are the power jack (10 volts AC, you need an adapter for this), an external speaker jack, the AM antenna connection, and the scanner antenna jack.

The AM antenna jack is for the reception of AM radio station signals. The scanner antenna jack is for police/fire etc, as well as FM signals.

In case you don't have a manual for your radio, it is available for free here:
