Hi,
I recently imported a 2007 Chrysler crossfire limited from NY toIsrael.
Unfortunately the radio tuner can only get American frequencies(unequal numbers) and the Israeli radio stations use the European (equalnumbers) frequencies standard.
Does anyone know if it's possible to convert the built in tuner(manufactured by infinity) so it will get the local frequencies, I really wantto keep the original system as it’s part of the dashboard design.
Thanks,
Barak
Barak, I have a brand new Chrysler Crossfire SatNav European spec model BE 6810 replacement kit. It's plug and play with European Navagation CD's. I purchased it from the UK thinking it would work in North America, it won't so I will sell it. It is a factory solution to your problem. E-mail me if interested. crossfire@ porchlight.ca
Hi Barak, I have not seen an easy adjustment on any car stereo for converting the frequencies. The Crossfire stereo is manufactured by Becker. Try Becker of North America in Upper Saddle River NJ.
There are many different factory audio systems. Bose uses Clarion, Blaupunkt, Becker, Panasonic and others. The stereos are manufactured for Bose to Bose specs. This is also true for this Infinitiy system. I have also seen Alpine be a stereo manufacturer for the Infinity system. I have had the oportunity to work with this particular car here at the shop, this car is a Mercedes. Mercedes uses Becker and Alpine for thier Bose system. This car uses Becker for the Infinity system.

Thanks, I'll look at it, but my system is infinity, are they related to becker?
Do you know where can I purchase a new tuner built for europeaqn frequencies that is made to fit the dashboard silver design?
I contacted them and it appears they only supply the amplifiers and the speakers, I also got a reply from Chrysler directing me to contact their service center in Germany for european parts...
Hello Barak,
Thank you for your inquiry. You have reached the website for the
aftermarket car audio division. Unfortunately I have no information
regarding your original equipment audio system in your vehicle. These
questions can be best answered by contacting your local vehicle
dealership. We are not able to support these products because we have no
information about OEM products sold by the automakers.
On Your factory system:
The OEM division produces only the upgraded amplifier and speakers for
your factory system. The source unit is produced by another company. To
this end, your dealership will be your only avenue for obtaining
information on this unit as we do not have any information on these
products.
If your system requires service:
Should your factory installed audio system require service please
contact your dealership. Any warranty service and/or the replacement of
any factory installed components should be handled by your dealership.
