Not receiving commands from the remote. (Panasonic Panasonic CT-34WX54 HDTV)

The TV monitor does not respond to the remote control. The remote is communicating with the peripheral devices and has fresh batteries. The manual controls work. The receiver lens looks clean.

Thanks, I am sorry I did not mention this was not the problem. I operated the reciever and DVD with the remote before switching back to the TV. What shall I do if the IF receiver is indeed bad? What could have caused it to fail?

I have had this tv for over a year with no problems. As of yesterday, neither the TV remote nor the cable remote (which also controls tv volume) are being picked up by the tv. WHY? Is the sensor broken? If so, what do I need to do? This tv weighs a TON so I will not be moving it anywhere.

All of sudden my cable remote stopped controlling the volume on the TV. It still changes channels on the cable box, so I tried my original tv remote and it still doesn't work.

Same problem, it's as if the TV lost its remote code

Same problem here.  TV just stopped responding to the remote.  looks like a bad IR Sensor receiver on the TV.  Bummer.  Anyone know about how much to fix?

  • Anonymous May 18, 2008

Appears that a few people have the same problem, but I do not see a solution posted here. I, too, just lost remote to tv connection. Panasonic receiver and dvd still accept signals, but not the tv.

The remote will work with Panasonic TVs in the store, but not with my TV at home. Like another person said, the TV is heavy, I can't carry it to a repair shop. Anyone have a clue what's wrong?

Same. Other devices respond to remote, but television does not. I love the TV, but don't want to replace it just because of a bad remote sensor.

Sometimes remotes have a switch to select tv,vcr,or cable, amke sure the remote is in the tv mode, other than that rare but remote receiver go bad and they have to be replaced, but before you call for assistance make sure the remote is communicating with the TV.It could be still good with other devices and not with the set.

If you use a camera phone you can see the LED blinking on the remote when you press the buttons in any mode.

Try pressing the volume down button on the T.V. and the info button on the remote. Do this for at least 5 seconds and it will reset the T.V.

The batteries may need changing, or the remote is defective, take the remote to your local tv repair store and have them check out.

No response from remote

Check whether the remote control is working properly or not by using remote checker. Even if it is the universal remote control you have to set the code for the particular model. Otherwise it will not work.

Green Spot On Screen

IN your statement says tv is second hand and also you tried degausser method also. The problem is permanent magnetic field affected your tv set. So the best recovery is fix one button magnet in the affected area.
