Cannot access default IP address 192.168.0.10 on internet to set up address on my new DP 301U. Tried it on two computers.
Download and install <a rel='nofollow' href="http://www.wireshark.org/download.html">Wireshark</a>.
After installing, click the first button on the toolbar to list available capture devices. Select the interface you use to connect to your network (wired or wireless card) by clicking the "Start" button next to it.
Power off and back on the print server. Watch the log on Wireshark, and look for the D-Link identifier under the "Source" tab. In the same row, it will tell you the IP address the print server has assigned to it. You can then change your computer's IP to be in the same subnet (match the xxx's in the address xxx.xxx.xxx.yyy), allowing you to connect to it.
Your computer has to be on the same subnet while setting up the DP-301U. If you haven't changed anything on the print server yet, then you are correct that it has an IP address of 192.168.0.10, and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. So your computer must have an IP address of 192.168.0.xxx (not 0, not 255, and definitely not 10). Also not any other value that is already taken elsewhere in your network.
You don't have to keep the DP-301U in the 192.168.0 subnet, by the way. You can change it to whatever you want; but you have to start there to configure it initially.

It's in the quick installation guide, which is freely downloadable from their web site. Top of page #3...
