Hi,

For a Cannon PowerShot G2, pls start here. Somewhere near the bottom left, you would need to check "I have read and understand the information above, and wish to download the designated software.
Thereafter click on DOWNLOAD.

Alternately, pls try here.

the magnet ay have screwed up the sensor in the camera. Similar to what a magnet does to a credit card.

What is the proper sequence in setting up self Timer I lost my instruction book. I never used timer in the past; I have a cannon power shot A560. I go to menu and scroll to timer set 10 sec and 2 shots....

First you press the self timer button. Then press the shutter button to start the timer.

When you check the card on the computer does it say its full or is their space left on it? Also it sounds like it is only using the internal memory. Have you checked the settings to make sure it is using the memory card?
