Hello,
It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem, this series ofWestinghouse monitors are known to have this issue. After a few yearssome LCD monitorswill blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts calledcapacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. When thecapacitors blow out they also damage the driver MOSFETs. If you aregood at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site
www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the picturesand your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to beinstalled with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on theold one and insert the new one the same way. I am putting together astep by step repair guide for this series of LCD monitors, it should beup by 07/11, check my web site for the guide. Repair parts kits are also available for $16.95 If you don't want to trythe repair yourself we offer a repair servicefor $35 plus shipping. If you are not going to repair it we will buy it from you for parts, we pay $30 for dead/as-is units.
I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.
