I bought my Philips Flat Screen TV Model No:
suziglantz, A good TECHNICIAN should be able to pinpoint where the problem is. I suspect that as long as the unit has perfect pic and sound when it IS ON, there should be no problem for a tech to find a thermally intermittant solder joint inside the unit on some printed circuit board. Most likely place to look first would be the Power Supply board. They are called "switch-mode-power-supplys" SMPS for short. Here is what I think. Parts are soldered to the printed circuit boards at the factory. But over time the unit is subjected to large changes in temperature. You do this every time you turn "on/OFF the unit. Let's see here, 360 days x 1 ON and one OFF x 6yrs will be approx 2000 cold to hot cycles. I would think that this would not happen for at least 4000 cycles. Again, a tech type person will need to find the poorly soldered component and or the SOLID STATE component which has a thermal intermittant problem. That's about all I can recomend at this time. Do some research on the web and you will find all types of info on temperature related failures of electronic devices. Please rate this response on fixya if you feel it has been of any help to you. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel @ aol .com

Image flashes for one second on screen then goes away
There could be a few different issues that could cause the behavior you're describing. Here are a few possibilities:
HDMI connection issue: Make sure the HDMI cable is properly connected to both the TV and the laptop. If you're using a HDMI splitter or HDMI switch, make sure those are also properly connected.
HDMI port issue: If you've tried multiple HDMI cables and still have the issue, there could be an issue with the HDMI port on the TV or laptop. You could try a different HDMI port on the TV or laptop, or use a different device to see if the issue persists.
Display settings: Make sure the display settings on the laptop are set to display on the external monitor (the TV in this case). If the laptop is set to display on the built-in monitor, it may cause the display to flash on and off.
Hardware issue: If none of the above solutions help, there could be a hardware issue with the TV or laptop. It's possible that the display controller or other hardware component is faulty and causing the display to flash on and off. In this case, it may be necessary to have the device repaired or replaced.
I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Philips LCD TV 42PFL3605/98
The problem is that there is a vertical white line on your Philips LCD TV 42PFL3605/98. This line is most likely caused by a loose connection between the LCD panel and the TV's main board.
Solution
To fix this problem, you will need to open up your TV and re-connect the LCD panel to the main board.

Philips monitor gone crazy
you are outside USA right, "?
ever see this monitor work right ever? ( of bought it like this?)
test it on 2 PCs not just 1????????
reset the monitor yet?
yes Phillips outside USA have odd features.
the 1st is the Philips auto scaler bug, if turned on , other than VGA it goes nuts, the cure is 3 fold there, reset monitor and turn that off.
then there is the silly Philips. SMART IMAGE? , disable it.(with app)
last is the auto brilliance feature, disable that.
above assumes PC is good and not video dead. test only on working good PC.
in DVI,HDMI or DP mode and cabled. never use the auto scaler.
this is bug inside the monitor, that fails to turn that off the second
non VGA port is used. a big nasty ol' bug. (monitor firmware bug)

I CANNOT PLAY REGION A DVDS ON MY 3D BLU/RAY
No disc in tray Press Home Scroll to settings input code: 13893108520 The settings will pop up and you will see that the DVD region is now set to 0 (meaning region free). I have checked the hack on a BDP8000 (region 2)and it sets the region to 0 (the 7th. digit from the left) alright, but it does not make the player region free as a message from the disc (MGM) comes and tell that the disc is not supposed to be played in this region. The region on the player can be changed to the region by changing the "x" in 138931x8520 to the actual region you want to play.Try this out. The hack codec for blue ray are not yet published so it is not possible to make Blue Rays totally region free as of now.
