SOURCE: I have a NVIDIA nForce

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. Nvidia Quadro NVS will not support SLI function unlike the Geforece GTX 460. If you are planning to SLI the 2 video card it would be impossible. If you want to create a 2way or 3way SLI you need to use an identical Video card. Quadro was made for multi display for workstations to run applications like Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Bloomberg, Thomas Reuters and Windows Media Player across multiple screens unlike the GTX version that are for high end gaming.
If you have questions please let me know. Thanks

How do I find error codes after putting in new mother board

It depends on who made the board but most use beep codes and or LED codes. When you first start up the PC you will hear the beep's and you will see the post codes flash on a LED. Those codes are listed in the manual for the motherboard if you don't have the original book that came with the board you can down load a copy from the support section on the makers website. like if your board is made by EVGA you would look here https://www.evga.com/support/download/

Just wondering why are you asking because its pretty rare that you would actually need the codes now days. Because if you are installing a newer model mother board into a older computer case then its probably shorting the CPU on the back of the board to the case as most older case's don't have a hole in the mother board mount under the CPU socket.

Hard to tell but very likely. If the power was on or the was still holding a charge when the card was removed or replaced it could have something to do with it.Try removing the drivers and re installing them. Here is a direct link to PDF manual for the motherboard.

My EVGA 780i will not post after installing a new heat sink. No post codes, no beeps. I have three LED lights on the mobo that are lit. Green, yellow, and blue. I have tried reseating ram, trying 1...

hi mate, here is a few things to try btw i hope you used thermal paste when you replaced the GPU heatsink as if you boot with out the thermal paste there always a chance if you didnt that the gpu got hot fried in a few seconds ( i have seen it happen)

1) remove the graphics card and clean the motherboard socket it plugs into with a paint brush i noticed you did try a alternate slot but there still could be debris in the primary graphics slot causing a problem ( alot of the time dust from the cpu fan builds up on the graphics card slot and when you remove the card and put it back in the dust or debris gets pushed into the graphics socket on the motherboard )

2) while the graphics card is removed use a cotton tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol or metholated spirits if you cannot get isopropyl alcohol and clean the gold connectors on the graphics card where the card plugs into the motherboard

3) perform the same above 2 steps on the ram dimms and the ram slots incase there is debris or dust there

4) see if your pc has a onboard graphics port and try removing the graphics card and running the pc off the onboard graphics only if it works from the onboard graphics then you at least know its the graphics card and not the ram or board, if the onboard display doesn't work when the graphics card is removed then the problem is likely in the motherboard

5) test you motherboard encase its broken - remove you graphics card and the ram sticks and turn your pc on, it should beep loudly at you-
- if it beeps the board is generally fine
- if it doesnt beep when the ram and other cards are removed then it could be the motherboard

other then that your limited as to being able to test further unless have a second pc to test the card in or a second card to test in your main pc,
