Duped into giving a hacker my gmail password. Thereupon hacker changed my password (locking me out) and sent a message to everyone in my address book that I am stranded in Madrid Spain and need $1,950. to pay expenses including a plane ticket back to the US. A blatant scam. Desire access to my account [[email protected]], ability to change my password to a new one, access to stored messages, and ability to do damage control by sending notices to everyone that the Madrid message is a scam. Using a friend's computer and gmail address for messages or chats. [[email protected]] My phone 719-229-1674
Ask for password change. I think you have provided a secondary email. if not google will ask you for a secondary email in the password reset process. And you will have a new password.
Any hacker worth their salt will have changed the security passwords and any form of access back into the account. That's why a Goggle asks for a phone number. Otherwise its a process of sending identification and such to Goggle.
Well that is possible but it is worth a try! We may never know what the hacker has done.

Nasty business. I hope they catch the bum. You have contacted Google, I presume?

How do you get "duped" into giving your password to your e-mail away?
Once you give your password away, hopefully you took g-mail up on there repeated offers to use a phone number. If you didn't you will have to contact them. Unless, by chance the security questions are still the same. You can press "forgot password" and opt to answer the security questions. That's you options at this point.
