Peavey XR8600D main outs simply stopped working. Unit is less than a year old but I am too far from any repair shop to make any use of the warranties (Samoa, South Pacific). I turned it on one night and the main outputs didn't work. I have been running on the monitor outputs. I use heavy duty Tripp Lite Line regulators for regulated electrical power. Is there a fuse I can change to remedy the problem?

These had a little switch on the far right side that shifted modes from stereo to main and monitor. Check the position as it is tiny push button. Also try sending line levels DIRECTELY into the power amp inpout jacks to verify the amps are both OK... if not, the repair shop is only option... there is only one main fuse for the amp and if one side is working, then the fuse is good.

Peavey XR8600 can't get it to come apart

And why would equipment blow a fuse the minute you turn it on? Well, I would say because it's defective. Bad power supplies, burnt components, shorted diodes and/or transistors or dead IC's. It's repair shop time bud and make sure that shorted speaker wires or defective speakers didn't damage it, as reconnecting a freshly repaired unit to the same wires/speakers could damage the unit twice.

Peavey xr1200 blows 8A fuse after about one second. Old mixer, seldom moved, has worked fine for years

If it blows a fuse when powered on, it has a dead short somewhere. Old units do this when the capacitors (filters) get old and dry out. These create dead short circuits. I recommend going through the unit and change out the bad ones. They can usually be spotted easily. They look like little cans glued on the board with an "X" on top. They are usually blue, gray, or black. The X on top is a weak spot allowing the top to open or pop up when they go bad.

Xr 1200

Old age has finally caught up with both myself and your vintage Peavey. Things like shorted diodes and transistors sometimes do not physically give themselves away, Also, many times it takes a trained eye to discern the components that have failed in a more discrete manner. It's either repair shop or replacement time which I recommend the latter.

Peavey xr 8600 about 6 yrs old used weekly heard a loud pop them a low emiting hum no sound comes thru .... is it time for a tech ? or dose it sound like an easy fix like fuse or something power on board...

Check the caps in the PSU, these give out over time although not normally when used regularly. You may be lucky and be able to see one or more with bulging tops. If you can replace them and all MAY be OK. Whilst in there check for any visible signs of anything burnt or blown. If it looks too bad or there is nothing obvious it's a trip to the repair shop for certain.

Where 's the fuse for my kb 100/200 watt amplifier

The fuse is INSIDE the unit and if it blows, then there are other damaged components that require going to a repair shop to repair before replacing the fuse.

Peavey 16fx mixer. main outs not working. If you power down the unit and turn on it works for about 5 sec.

Sounds like a power supply failure. Unless you are adept at electroincs this is NOT a DIY repair.
