I have the same problem and NO it is NOT the batteries! And you don't need drivers!
Anyone else have any ideas?
I have a Mac and I took out the interface hub, and took out the batteries. Then I replaced the interface hub and while replacing the batteries I held down the command key. It worked. I got this idea because I found an answer for PC that said to hold down the key that has two arrows making a circle. Mac doesn't have that key so I used the command. All I can say is that it worked for mine
SOURCE: lighted optical mouse stopped working optic not
your batteries in mouse are bad replace batteries
SOURCE: the mouse keeps jumping can i fix that?
Reinstall the drivers and try using it on a matt surface. If you got any utility software with the mouse, do install it. If issue persist, you should replace it.

i have same model, same issue, although i'd say the red light under the mouse only flashes for a second as a make battery contact. i used to reinstall the usb receiver plug and batteries over and over until i got disgusted or it worked. maybe the cheap $10 unit is kaput...?
you only have uninstall the mouse in device manager and restart your computer
Holding down the top button after turning on worked! Thanks
