Anonymous Posted on Sep 28, 2011

I own a toshiba Regza 46rv530u and have owned it for about 2 years. Never had any problems until right now! None of my hdmi ports are working. I have not changed any settings on the tv or my game consoles. It was working one night and a couple of hours later none of them are working. Does anybody have any suggestions? I really cant afford a new tv.

Hello
Check your TV for other inputs, ie, AV, antenna etc. If these inputs are working fine, and only HDMI has the trouble, check the HDMI cable. Reset the TV to its original factory settings according to its manual says. Check these and inform me if you fails to get the HDMI input. OK.

If you can select all other inputs except HDMI with this set, you have to check by replacing the HDMI cable with an other one. If it has some troble, the set won't get suffician signal or no signal at all. When using High Definision Multimedia Interface [HDMI], the cable must be of the highest quality to keep losst to the digital signals which will be very less in amplitude. Thei is the most important thing to be keep in mind when buying a HDMI cable. OK.

If you do not get result with an other HDMI cable too, the input selector IC on the ciruit board inside your tV is faulty. Replacing it is a very skilled job.

Thank you for your help. Just one more question where would i find a part like this and if i couldnt find a family member to do it what would it roughly cost to have a professional do it? My brother is very smart with electronics but just to keep my option open.

Hello= Just ask your brother whether he can follow the input circuit of the tV and make a repair on it. It is really a skilled work, as I mentioned earlier; experience in servicing this kinds of electronic devices is a must to follow. Just replace the HDMI cable and set the resolution of the tV t lower DPI. If these also does not help you, just get it repaired by either your borther or by any well experienced service technican you know, of by the authorised service center for Toshiba at your town. OK

hi,
1080p full hd video can obtain only through hdmi. for that u need a full hd blue ray player or full hd sat receiver . the tv automatically changed to full hd according to the input connecting to it .go to hdmi setting and check whether hdmi connectivity is ON. also check the hdmi setup of ur input device.

My Toshiba Regza 46RV530U is showing double image (ghostly image) on the screen after one year of use. What part do I need to change in order to get rid of this image? Local TV repair guy told me that...

What year was the TV manufactured? What model is it?

If its manufactured in 2008 get back with me.

I have a failing LCD panel and am starting a class action lawasuit against Toshiba becuase there is a high number of failing units built during this time that Toshiba is not addressing and their customers are not being herd... well I am going to make them listen!

let me know if you want to be part of this activity.

I've had my Toshiba 46RV530U less than 2 years,

Diana, did you ever find a solution? My Toshiba (same model) is about 2 years old and it started getting these 4 horizontal lines spaced pretty far apart and a double image at bottom. When I lightly tap the top of the TV, they went away. But now that is not working. Please let me know. Thanks.

No picture on a Toshiba 46RV530U

Turn the tv on and shine a flashlight on the screen. Its hard to see a pic but most likely, its there. For some reason, your lamps in the panel are not turning on. Inverters are my first guess.

Toshiba regza 46rv530u will not turn on

Check the ac fuse. In a couple of cases because of a power surge the fuse opens up.
After replacing, the sets have worked normally.

HDMI issues with Comcast HD Box

HDMI Has a safety feature that blocks other remotes from changing things. What a Joke I say. There could be a problem with the feature.
You can push up on the "Settings" button on the remote twice to enter the "advanced" settings menu. There might be something in there that needs to be set.
I found out that if I change the cable box output from HDMI to DVI it will work fine but the picture is not as clear.

I believe its a hdmi and communication problem with you box.The only thing you can do is to go back to component video cables until they come up with a fix.
