App error 523 means there was an application that caused corruption to your operating system.
You will need to
reload the software to remove this error. It is best to update it
as well if you are reloading the data. You can do this by going to this
URL and getting the most up-to-date version of your software:

Once
you download the blackberry device software you can run it on your computer and follow the prompts that it gives you. Once this
installation is complete you can connect your phone to your computer and
run the desktop manager. It should recognize your phone and then
indicate that there is an update for your phone (if you don't already
have the newest software on your phone). Make sure that when it prompts
you to do a backup that you backup everything. If this does not work
the first time try again. If it still will not work you can still
reload the data but it is much more complicated. You can post a comment
to this if it does not work and I can give you instructions for doing a
complete wipe of your handheld and a reinstallation of the software.
