Hi, I am from Singapore. I have a fx-9860G Casio Calculator which I bought in 2008. I believed that I have left the battery in the calculator and left it untouched for about 1 year. I recently changed the batteries but there is nothing on the screen. I would like to have it fix. Please advise. Thanks, Liew

When you took the batteries out, was there a white or greenish deposit around battery terminals, or battery leaks or swelling?
Most likely battery electrolyte has leaked into the electronics, eating through wires / parts, or the battery connector terminals / springs may just be corroded and need a toothbrush.
Best to open the back cover and inspect for corrosion / damage, cleaning where needed.
For cleaning dried electrolyte, it's best to remove the entire board, unplug display, soak in medium-hot water with dishwasher, or Coca-Cola, for 1 hour.
No, I don't work for Coke - just saw the tip once on You Tube. ;)
Gently scrub then rinse well with clean running water, allow to dry.

SOURCE: Inputing factors on a casio fx-115es calculator

Unless I am failing to understand your problem, just combine like terms to get:
9x^2+2x+4 and then enter those coefficients into the quadratic solver.
That will get you the two answers -- both of them will be complex.
If you wanted to turn those two answers into factors (complex) of the original equation simply
change the signs on each and put an x in front.
Of course, the quadratic formula would also work.

SOURCE: Hi, I have a Casio calculator fx-991MS giving me wrong answers!

Hello,
I am only looking for a plausible cause of the error, because I do not believe your calculator can make such a mistake. I think you accidentally activated the Exponential display format and did not pay attention to the small, raised -03 that came at the end of the number displayed. It is a common mistake for those not very familiar with Scientific or exponential notation.

Let us try to reset your calculator to the normal (floating point) format.
Press the [MODE] key a number of times until you reach a screen that has FIX, SCI, NORM and under each one a number (FIX 1, SCI 2), Norm 3). To have the number of decimal place you gave in your result (4 decimal digits), you press 1 to select Fix then 4.

Be aware that scientific calculators usually stop displaying results in floating point format ( 0.0000045 ) if the number is smaller then 0.001. So basically, 0.00099 will be displayed as 9.90-04, -04 being raised above the level, and in smaller size.

Hope it helps.

Can you calculate indefinite integrals on the casio fx-9860G

Unfortunately, the Casio FX-9860 G does not have a Computer Algebra System or CAS. For this reason it can only calculate definte integral over a given interval. The lower and upper limits must be supplied. The result will be a number.
Casio calculators that have a CAS are the Casio ClassPad CP330/ 300Plus/ 330, or the Algebra FX 2.0.

My screen is broken can i get it fixed?

Hi Jimbo_Hathaw,
Regarding about your broken Casio FX-9860G Graphics Calculator, i would recommend you to find a Casio service center in your area, if so you need to go there with the broken Casio along with your receipt. depending on the amount of damage which has been occurred to the screen charges may be applied to getting it replaced.

Casio Service Center :

www.casio.com

( click on your area and search for the service center's number in your specific area )

if you are how ever unable to find the service center in your area then the best option is to find an electronic store in your area. bring your calculator there and ask them whether they can fix the issue with the broken screen.

I hope i've given you insight about fixing your calculator, if there is any questions you have please contact me.

good luck!
