Sound card not working
if you are having problems with your sound
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound,video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there

click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer

Sound driver not working
I believe the drivers you need are on asus Official website. I found the download page you just need to plug in your information. Click the link below. You can try clicking the link or just copy and paste it into your web browser. Here is is:

My problem is the graphics

You would need to select the appropriate OS (Operating System) first before it can give you the list of drivers that you need to download. (Example: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7)
If you have Windows 7, please download the video driver for Windows Vista.
If you are having trouble with the Global(DLM) link choose instead the Global or China links.

Choose your OS, eg XP, Vista, Windows 7

You need to specify the exact problem.
If your PC doesn't boot up then it means that your system is not posting. This could mean that eaither your CPU or your motherboard is faulty. If you get a series of beeping sounds then you will need to replace the RAM. If your PC boots up but you get no signal to the monitor and if you were using a graphics card it now means that it may have become faulty and you will need to use onboard graphics. If you were using onboard graphics then your motherboard VGA has malfunctioned.
All in all I suggest you take it down to a PC technition to see which components are faulty.
No audio

you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling

go to asus web site www.asus.com
click on "download" from the manue. on the left hand side wrere it says "input model" type in your motherboard model P5SD2-VM. under it choose "all" and click on "show info".
your motherboard model will be shown. click on it and choose your operating system from the pop up screen.
a list of all available drivers for your motherboard will come up.
you can also try this link. it should take you to the download page for asus.
