What do i do if my needle is hitting my hook in my singer sewing machine model 5830c

If the needle on your Singer sewing machine model 5830c is hitting the hook and you have verified that it is the correct needle for the machine, there could be a few different issues causing the problem. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the needle height: Make sure the needle is properly positioned in the machine and is not set too high or too low. If the needle is set too high, it can hit the hook as it rotates. You can adjust the needle height by turning the handwheel towards you until the needle is in its highest position, and then turning the handwheel away from you until the needle is one or two notches above the highest point of the hook.
  2. Check the needle size: Make sure you are using the correct size needle for the fabric and thread you are using. If the needle is too small for the thread or fabric, it can cause the needle to hit the hook as it rotates.
  3. Check the bobbin case: If the bobbin case is not properly seated in the machine or is damaged, it can cause the needle to hit the hook as it rotates. Make sure the bobbin case is correctly installed and not damaged.
  4. Check the machine's timing: If the timing of the machine is off, it can cause the needle to hit the hook as it rotates. You can check the timing by removing the needle plate and observing the movement of the hook as the machine runs. If the hook is not moving in sync with the needle, it may be necessary to adjust the timing of the machine.
If you have tried these troubleshooting steps and the problem persists, it may be necessary to have the machine serviced by a professional. A technician will be able to diagnose the problem and determine the necessary repairs.

My singer 720 is not picking up the bobbin thread

Are you holding the needle thread as you turn the hand wheel? You need a bit of tension on the top thread to get the bobbin thread to tie onto it. It's safer and better to do this by hand, in my experience with a Touch 'N Sew Singer. Try threading the machine again with the presser foot fully up and the needle bar is in the highest position to avoid a tension problem. Double-check that the bobbin isn't over-filled or empty. Check that the needle point is undamaged. Try a brand new needle. If that isn't the problem, check that the bobbin case isn't damaged and that the bobbin case/feed dog area is clean. Similarly, make sure that the bobbin wind mechanism is undamaged. Check the bab (My Touch 'N Sew is an inherited machine. The bobbin wind mechanism broke and was replaced several times after the push-button failed to release when the slide plate was closed. Those were all before I got it. I've gotten in the habit of opening and closing the slide plate a few times to check the position.) For removing the bobbin case, see page 104 (page 110 of the PDF) of the manual. The current link to the manual is https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/fl_attachment/Singer-Website-Library/outdated_product/SINGER_700_and_720_Sewing_Machine.pdf . I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

My Singer touch tonic has suddenly stopped advancing the fabric It sees but the feed dogs Appel to be locked I have tried pushing the red reset button but didn't help

Which specific model Singer Touch Tronic do you have? The Touch Tronic 2001 has a special cover plate and foot for darning and embroidery that blocks the feed dogs. Could that be installed on your machine? Try changing the cover plate to the zig-zag or straight stitch one, depending on your stitch choice. The zig-zag cover plate is appropriate for most stitches. Four different cover plates are listed in the included accessories on page 3 (page 5 of the PDF) of the manual. Most Singer manuals are available here: https://www.singer.com/support . The Touch Tronic 2001 manual link is currently https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/fl_attachment/Singer-Website-Library/outdated_product/5a0f6c95685a2d9c7d9a495892142df0f3a2707a_1.pdf . I hope this helps. Unfortunately, if the other cover plates are not with the machine's accessories, I've only found a source for the slide plate. None of the cover plates appear to be available. I am looking for details of how to control the sewing speed of a singer sewing machine model 201K - Register No.429906

the speed is controlled by the foot peddle unless you have the knee lever type. if you have the knee lever there is a handle stored in the bentwood top plug it in the hole on the front of the case and it controls the resister under the panel at the far right of the machine case. although these work i usually wire around them as i prefer a foot speed controller

I have a SInger 328K sewing machine that has quit working. Is there a reset button or fuse somewhere I can check before I have to take it to the repair shop?

no there is not a reset or fuse.. does the light work? if yes then you have power to the machine I'm pretty sure it's the foot peddle or a loose wire. ... although the foot peddle rarely goes out this way it can happen.. if it's not a big deal i would suggest taking it in for repair but if it's a financial hardship then you can unplug the machine remove the panel where the wires go in (two flat screws) and you will probably see if any wires are broken .. it goes back together just like it came apart.. next open the foot peddle they usually slide open by prying the clamp end and sliding it .. careful to keep your hand out of the way those sharp pieces bite. once inside you can again check for broken or loose wires.. there are youtube videos on these

Why can't I find my model number on my Singer quick Fix mending machine

It is because it is battery operated and doesn't need a power label. It should be in this link. https://www.google.com/search?q=singer+quick+fix+mending+machine+model+number ..

Singer sewing machine. Have dusted, oiled adjusted over and over. May work OK a bit, then goes back to breaking thread so back looks like hair. Seems like thread getting caught in shuttle?

Sounds like there could be a burr or nick somewhere that is catching the thread and shredding it. Change the needle. Wrap your index finger with some fine fabric (old hosiery, chiffon, silk) and run it around inside the machine around the bobbin/shuttle, feed dogs, needleplate, presser foot. If there is a burr, you will probably find it. If it is minor, it can be smoothed with a fine emery board or fine sand paper. If it is major, you may need to replace the part. ...

Singer 8734. How to remove tension disc from it please?

Not much on that operation, but normally you just unscrew the knob fully anticlockwise. Some have a small set screw to limit movement, so you would undo that first. https://www.google.com/search?q=Singer+8734.+remove+tension+disc https://www.google.com/search?q=singer+8734.+parts+manual ..

I have a singer Futura 900 machine that I recently acquired and when manually turn the wheel it gets hard to turn about every 1 1/2 turns. What causes this and how do I fix it please?

The machines needs cleaning, lubricating and the timing redone. Take it in for service. Normally needs doing every couple of years if you use it frequently.

My machine is a singer 2001 anniversary model 3820

Singer.com has most of their machine manuals on the support page, https://www.singer.com/support . Just type in the model number. The link in my browser history is https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/fl_attachment/Singer-Website-Library/outdated_product/SINGER_3810_and_3820_Sewing_Machine.pdf . ManualsLib also has the manual: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/508746/Singer-3820.html#manual . If you need a printed copy, you'll have to print it yourself (or take it to a print shop like Kinko's/UPS Store). I hope this helps. Since the manual covers two models, always check that the specific section applies to your machine. Cindy Wells
