When i switched my TG7

That link doesn't work or it leads to a convoluted place where have to know more to find it.

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Electrovoice-TG7-Amps-manual/id/22385bh026/t/2/

It sounds like their service is on par with the website presentation. They couldn't even define it for you?

I'll take a feeble swing at it. The manual shows it has Event Logs. I'd start there and see what else is indicated. Eventually an understandable decode might appear.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on; or it may turn on but produce no audio to the speakers.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

I recently heard that the EV-757 was the best mic

Don't know if I'd go that far. Microphones (like other gear) has specific design characteristics. The EV757 is a great mic and is best suited for female vocals (or Art Garfunkle). I paid $190 in the early 90's ($390 retail). I like dynamic mics for their ruggedness and no ned for phantom power. A condenser mic like a Neumann U87 cost $3,000 but faithfully reproduces. "Best" can only be used in conjunctioon with "for a particular purpose"

I have an Electrovoice MA-1212 That when I hook it

WIth the speakers disconnected, measure the terminals using a DC voltmeter. I suspect that there is DC voltage there where there should be 0V. If that is the case, the output transistors are shorted and need to be replaced.

Wiring tweeters.

Yes you need them. I always put them inline on the positive side. They are to protect the speakers against low frequencies. Actually, I use oil bath capacitors sometimes on pro systems. I don't see how they would work between the positive & negative that is unless they have a positive & negative side with an out and an in? Hope this helps,

Electro voice ma-1212 shorted 2sd5200 power transistors

Your best bet would be to contact EV. Search for either EV or Telex. Telex will be easier to find and contact the repair department. Ask for the part availability and cost. They are very helpful there. Please let them know the model number as well.

Ev eliminator 1 18 sub

Hi steves-music

Being triple jointed, or having a third extra thin flexible arm will help!! lol. I have not done one before my self, but it sports the same design as the Peavey subcompact bin, and I have done a few of them. You will have remove the front grill, to go in through the front, and unscrew/bolt the driver using a 1/4 inch ratchet drive with an extension will help get the back screws. Use of a mirror will help you sight the screws for removal and replacement. Not an easy job, but doable.

Crackle or popping from EV Sx 100+ speaker

test this : Gd bless youLine noise is feeding in from the AC line. Use an ac line filter to block the line noise. RF (radio frequency) interference is being picked up by the power line or wiring. Remove sources of RF interference, such as fluorescent lighting or wireless devices not designed to work with audio/video equipment. Wires between the components are on top of one of the components; the transformers are causing RF interference. Be sure that wiring goes behind the components rather than on top or between components. If there is an equalizer in use, there could be a ground loop. Ground loops can be resolved by installing GLI's (ground loop isolators) on the cables connecting to the equalizer.

ElectroVoice P2000 stays in protect if cold

Normally it's the other way round, something gets hot and cuts out! The procedure for doing solving this is to spray the suspect device with Servisol Freezer Spray, when it stops functioning, if it's faulty the spray will make it come back on. But in your case I suggest you do the reverse of this. When it starts working spray a suspect part one at a time with Freezer Spray. If it stops working you have found the faulty part. To speed up the process you can heat it up with an soldering iron, plus check when you think you have found the culprit.
