Will not recognize 16 GB SDHC Card - Help Please

I had a literally terrifying experience with Aiptek customer service.

I called up Aiptek to ask if it was possible to get my memory cards working. I have two 4GB SDHC PNY cards, which th ekid at target reccomended after loking at the back of the box.

I was told by aiptek tech support that PNY cards will not work in the A-HD camera.

When I mentioned that the box says it will take cards up to 32GB, and asked him if this was not false advertising. The representative became irate and started insulting me, using valgure language, and calling me a liar.

At this point I had enough of his abuse and yelled at him F.U!

What happened next is Truly Absurd and Outrageous!

The man behind the telephone at Aiptek told me he was going to send 5 guys to my house to assult me and my fammily!
THIS IS NO JOKE!

I have a camcorder called

Mine came with Arcsoft Total Media
Extreme. At first it did a great job of making movies. It has been freezing up lately.
You should have gotten a copy with the cam or a link to download it at least. If not, buy a vid editing package that supports hd mov files. The compression is h2.64 I think.

Memory full message

the problem Probably is that the memory card isn't the right kind, so it just records to the "Built in memory". The only way to fix this is to format the Memory card

File failed message

The same thing happens to me when I try to record thru the "A/V in jack". It appears (my first thought) that the camera is trying to record to the internal drive and it runs out of memory really quick. But then, when I play it back, (the small 15 seconds or so) the audio and video are not sync'd. Most of the time at least. Very inconsistent. It also locked up and froze for me too. I had to remove the battery to reset it. Once or twice it recorded normal, (once when I reset the default settings and another time just out of the blue) - I thought I had it solved but it went back to "File Failed" after about 17-20 seconds of recording on the next record session.

I have the thing packed up ready to take back, but am looking for a solution so I can keep it..

Putting video files to hard drive

You should be able to transfer files to the hard drive. The camera will be assigned a letter in my computer. Divx software is good to convert them onto a disk and it's reasonably priced.

Check it out at www.divx.com

AIPTEK A-HD 720P

You have to Download the quicktime software that came on the CD that was in the box for the camcorder. If you threw that out, no matter, just go to the internet and google "quicktime for windows free download" (make sure you say free because there are two versions of quicktime, one is free, one is $20) I recommend pro though, because it can download videos, and convert them too. Hope this helped- Animation508 (youtube username)

Taking ditailed picture.

Try using the macro infinity switch on the camera, this will help a tiny bit, other than that the camera only has X3 zoom... not much.
Hope this helped, Snowsurfer58

Viewing content on my PC.

did you check your "my computer" folder? It should be with the public drives. If you AREN'T on a PC it would be in finder, next to the "Hard disk" (this will have a new name, but it should look like a disc drive) the camera will most likely be represented by a white drive with an eject button next to it.

Aiptek - Video and sound is out of sync

Are you recording in High Def? When I tried that on mine the same thing happened. That definitely has to be played back on Hi Def TV and the computer probably isn't capable of handling that. Switch to DVD mode, or Web cam mode and you won't have a problem.

hmm.. this is a hard one. Well, you may have the SD car on Lock, but if that's not the problem, you either used up the memory, or need to upgrade the firmware Sorry I can't answer in great detail. I'll try to find some more information ASAP. Sincerely: (youtube user) animation508

How to view on tv

HDTV: grab the "HD out" cables (That's the Blue-orange-green cable) and plug them into the (front may have a "video 2/3 section")  the video 2 (video one probably has your game station, or DVD player if not, plug it into the "video 1" section) and the screen on the camera (may or may not, mine does, my friend's does) turn off, that's OK. Make sure that before you plug it in you've selected AV OUT, not IN. Change the input mode on the tv to match the plug in area's name. Go to menu (you may have to navigate from the tv screen) then "my works" and you're ready to go :)
Standard TV: Grab the Standard-def cable (red-yellow-white) cable and plug it into one of the available Red-Yellow-White ports on the TV, then the rest will be the same as for an HDTV.
hope this answer helped, sincerely: (youtube user) Animation508
